I just bought a GTX 670
congrats. soon you will also know what the locked topic race feels like!
LOL. Someone's jealous.
That's a pretty sweet card. I've only had mine (a 7850) for less than a year, and I'm already feeling the strain of age on my video card. Then again, I recently moved from a 19" 1680x1050 monitor to a 23" 1920x1080 monitor, so that may have something to do with it. Point is, enjoy it while it lasts. New cards are always around the corner.
Have one myself... you're going to have a good life.
You are correct sir, I am just sitting around installing games on Steam to see them run perfectly on my new card.
As an owner of a 680, I can confirm that the feeling is pretty awesome.
Still can't wait to get a new job so I can buy a Titan.
Did the math on SLIing another 560ti to the one I have in there. turns out the numbers are higher than a 670. Might go that route and save $100. Anybody done an SLI? Are there downsides?
There are absolutely downsides. For one, the "mouse feel" tends to suffer depending on the game. Basically, framerates will be less consistent, and frame latency will be worse. Some games also have terrible, terrible SLI support which means you have to disable SLI just to get decent performance.
When it works, it's worth it. But sometimes it doesn't, or barely does, and that's a bummer. Plus it's going to be louder and use much more power, and require more space, something you need to make sure you have because a lot of people don't realize they don't have the space for it until the last second. Assuming you have enough power and space, if you have any games that you play regularly and plan to continue playing, you should check what the SLI support is like. Generally, I'd advise going for the best single card you can afford. You'll have more consistent framerates, the games will feel better, and support will be much, much better.
It also depends wildly on the card you are SLIing. nVidia cards are much, much better. Avoid crossfire like the friggin plague. As I recall, the 500 series does really well in SLI, I remember one of them actually managed to MORE than double performance somehow. I'd say that SLI 560ti would be a pretty safe bet, but again, make sure the games you care about are going to work well with it.
=( I wish Cryostasis was still available digitally, because you seriously should play it.
You can still get it on Amazon though.
GTX Titan or GTFO!!
I'm trying but I can't find one, looks like Nvidia is releasing another batch but tweaked differently here soon.
The 670 is a great card congrats man. Also like maybe others have said you can always SLI if you need more power in the future.
Got a GTX 580 right now. Thinking about getting a 600 Series or a 700 Series one (if it comes out this year) later this year.
Same, although I'm definitely waiting for the 700 series regardless of when it comes out.
My CPU is my bottleneck, stupid i7 that's worse than all the new i5 models :(
Might have to get me a 780 if these specs are right, i wonder if that 5GB or VRAM would be enough entering next gen games...hmm

@zenmastah: i'd wager that the memory amount on even the 7970's and 680's will be fine.
Although, if something is going to be a problem, it will be that the cards simply lack the horsepower to crank out enough frames per second.
The 670 is an amazing card, I am loving mine, I spent so long with a terrible PC but I saved up and finally got a whole new system and i'm feeling alive again!!
congrats. soon you will also know what the locked topic race feels like!
No 670 in your PC i'm guessing?
Yeah, well have to wait and see what the requirements will be.
Good ports max out 2GB already though so it will be interesting to see how the VRAM is going to grow going forward.
No, master race also means the newest of the newest hardware of course.
You're like, the shoeshiner of the master race, but that's not all too bad either, I guess.
=( I wish Cryostasis was still available digitally, because you seriously should play it.
You can still get it on Amazon though.
They stopped selling it? I missed that one.
I'm still on a 560 Ti; waiting until probably next year when the new consoles are out to upgrade. Most games don't really push my card hard enough for me to spend the money to upgrade right now.
