The PC (Personal Computer) is a highly configurable and upgradable gaming platform that, among home systems, sports the widest variety of control methods, largest library of games, and cutting edge graphics and sound capabilities.
So I have decided to move on from my gaming laptop (HAHAHA....I know), I have a picture below with a list of the parts I plan on buying and am wondering if I am missing anything and if anyone has any advice, thanks!
@Bucketdeth: Your choice of parts looks ok. Nice selection of mid range components and a good graphics card. The only things I did notice are that your hard drive is SATA 3 and your motherboard only supports SATA 2. So you would be losing up to 50% in read speed. Also the motherboard is micro ATX which limits your options if you plan on adding extra cards at a later point. I'd switch up the motherboard to something like this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131647 its cheaper too. I guessing that you don't plan on using SLI in the future as the original motherboard you chose was AMD crossfire ready .
I'd also use a different cooler to the one that comes with the 955. I have the same processor and I can overclock it quite nicely with a quality heatsink such as: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835118223 You could replace this at a later date if you ever felt like overclocking.
Here's a neat link you might want to check out when deciding what graphics card you want to buy. I'm assuming you know what SLI is.
Thanks for the link :). Yeah I do know what SLI is but I wasn't planning on using 2 cards, this does reassure my purchase of the 560GTX though as the chart has it pretty high up.

Ah, thanks for the tips! I'm fairly new to building PC's and I was wondering, how could you tell the mother board only supports SATA 2?
and I totally forgot about buying a better fan for the CPU.
Oh and also, I need the motherboard to be AM3+ so I have more options in the future if I want to upgrade.
As a Canadian I have to order from Tigerdirect.ca and that model seems to be $143.99, so I looked a little and found this guyfor $114.99, do you think that motherboard is ok?
I presume you 're planning to use the stock heatsink? My reccomendation would be to get an after market one, they're a lot more efficient, better looking, and allow for easier overclocking (if you're going to do that) -Ghooble Somebody already mentioned heatsink. My bad xD
