Im guessing I need a graphics card from the 9 series, and some other things. I really want to get this thing to lets say "Crysis" level if thats possible.

A processor and video card switch up would probably be all you need for now - I'm guessing your version of Vista is 64 bit? If not, 2GB of RAM are going to waste there.

As for your directX version, it may say 11 but your card won't let you access any features above 9c. You can get  GTX 260 for pretty cheap these days (although naturally if you can stretch, a 280 is better or the newest Ati 5870 for DX11 goodness) and an i7processor is definitely worth it. I'd say that's all you need to max out games at that res, even Crysis.

You should be able to hit ~3Ghz on that cpu with a decent cooler if you know what you're doing.  After that you would need a new video card and you're set.  Right now a 5850 is your best bang for the buck, but nvidia is releasing new gpu's in a week so I'd wait.  You also could consider a quad -- the core2quads fit in your 775 socket.

A 9 series card and maybe an E8400 or a Q6600 depending on preference and what mobo you have.

You've got plenty of ram and wont see any difference past your 4 unless your ram is slow. However, as it's been said, Vista is a ram whore.

I really can't recommend buying another dual core now, especially with games like Bad Company 2 that fully saturate a quad.  If you have the funds a q9550/q9650 and a 5850/5870/gtx470 would be a huge upgrade.  What kind of power supply do you have?  You may need more juice for a new card.

He's referring to the one inside the computer. It will most likely be a triple digit figure in your case, measured in watts, usually printed on the top or side of the PSU.

Not with a motherboard manufactured by the "Pegatron Corporation" he wont...

Its a P35 board so you should be able to plonk down a Q6600 or a Q9450/9550 without to much grief (provided that generic brand mobo has a bios that supports them).  Also I agree that chucking a  5850 in there would be good, however that being said considering the less than stellar branding of your mother board you may want to check the PSU as well before putting any addition power draw in there.

Does the motherboard support PCI-Express? If not, you should probably trade up in the near future if you want to get a new graphics card. It's not required to play games on it, but it will certainly help. And it'll make your computer future-proof.

Make sure your power supply has at least 4 +12v rails running at 20 amps each. Check under specifications and use newegg.com to shop. I recommend the Zalmann 750 watt one they make awesome power supplies. A little bit pricey but worth every penny. Also

Stop spamming that shit. If you must, at least just make an OT thread for it, where every spammer can post his link so you can exchange hits. This is just lame.
