Overview
Pelé! is a soccer game that was endorsed by the world-famous Brazilian national team member Pelé, who is said to have offered input on how the game should play. It was released exclusively for the Sega Genesis in North America and Europe in late 1993 and was eventually followed by Pelé II: World Tournament Soccer the following year.
The game features forty sides taken from leagues across the world, though as it lacked the appropriate licenses the teams are only known by their city of origin such as Manchester or Munich. It uses an isometric perspective similar to the one in FIFA (though flipped horizontally) and offers tournament and season modes in addition to the default exhibition match mode.
