Game » consists of 9 releases. Released Nov 28, 2013
Persona 4 Arena Ultimax is a sequel to the original Persona 4 Arena. It has new characters, new stages and several new gameplay related changes such as new moves.
Console release announced for 2014 (PS3)
Adachi teased! That's great, he was one I really wanted for the last game.
Speaking of, still haven't touched it, whoops!
Pretty cool that Adachi's one of the people behind the events of P4A2. Extra footage from the trailer was in the reveal here.
Apparently, there are two Sho forms: one with his Persona and one without. Wonder if those are actually two playable forms.
@fluxwavez: If it's anything like Labrys in story mode, probably not.
Also during the stream, was one of Sho's Persona move a counter? I only saw it once and I think he was fighting Chie.

That's what I would have thought, but people are talking about Persona-less Sho having a different kind of writing in his name than Sho with his Persona. I'd expect there to just be one version, though, but it's something to consider.
And yeah, on of his supers looks like a counter.
Adachi makes a lot of sense since he would bring this sequel back into the realms of Persona 4 fanservice, instead of being a purely Persona 3 extension. Not that that was a bad thing.
Is this going to include the story for the first Arena? I really wanted to play it but never got to because of the dumb region lock.

Most likely not.

Damn. Guess I'll have to buy both. You got me Atlus.

Maybe a recap but not a whole story
@toowalrus: You'll have to wait for the subtitles I probably won't put out for that trailer to find out!
So there are actually two versions of Sho: one where he has his Persona and another where he doesn't. His title differs between both versions and so does his portrait. He also has a different movelist. It might be a P4A2 normal/Shadow version differentiation or it could be a Labrys and Shadow Labrys differentiation that took two slots like in P4A.
@fluxwavez: You always seem to like characters that are evil with low health.
@irrelevantjohn: Ha, I guess there's something fundamental that attracts me to them, for some reason. Though, in P4A2's case, there are so many villains that that might change.
I'm actually considering maining something akin to "Shadow" random, where I basically play all Shadow characters, Sho and Adachi based on who my opponent is. There are too many to decide now!
Okay, I'm confused. Does this sequel have the original story content? I'm weighing up should I buy Persona 4 Arena now...
If it's got the story content, I could possibly wait (although it'll take forever to get to Europe) or is it just a sequel with a new/different story from P4A?

From what I've seen, I think it won't have the original story content. They will probably recap the past event.
So Adachi might be a playable character eventually.
Since it says 9th match I'm gonna say this is from score attack.
@irrelevantjohn: Dude, that picture is a confirmed fake from before the trailer showed up. He definitely isn't playable right now. Fightable, however? No clue.
@shoryusatsu999: Yeah, found out it was fake at work. Oh well, I can still hope.
Got this off tumblr, so I dunno how legit it is, but this is supposedly Sho's persona
