Am I missing something? After I die, a Continue? screen comes up, but pressing any of the buttons just accelerates the countdown and then I get kicked back to the character select. Is this a sick joke? I really don't want to go through every single previous opponent every time I die, and if that's the way it has to be I'm just going to give up on Arcade Mode, I think.

So that if you want to select another character you can. I'm not sure if it'll keep going or restart if you change characters but picking the same character will start you back on the fight you lost.

Oh goddammit, really? Because that's what I thought originally, but I couldn't hit "Continue" in time, and when I selected the same character it started me back from the beginning. So I have to hit Start and THEN pick the same character?

Good thing I ragequit the game after I thought I'd failed to Continue after hitting Start! Ugh.

It's not uncommon for fighting games to boot you back to the character select screen when you continue.
