My dreams don't involve an older Nanako. It's just too weird. My dreams involve Rise actually being a playable character instead of a means of getting Teddie into the game.
I don't know if you guys understand the implications of having a quiz show in this game. I don't know if this specific screenshot has been translated by anyone yet, but the question is asking about the contents of a very specific vending machine located in a very specific part of Inaba, which is to say, they are skewing for hella obtuse. I'm not sure even the most detailed FAQs on the original game ever bothered to actually keep track of that stuff, but now apparently nothing is safe to skim over.

SHIT JUST GOT REAL!

TaP soda
Second Maid
DR Salt Neo
....i am deeply embarrased that I remember this.
If I may make use of your translator skills: What's up with that screen with the fake TV programs. I haven't seen a good translation of what the channel 7 thing is. Is it just concept art from Shigenori or what?
@mutha3: That screen depicts a stylized version of an otherwise typical TV program guide that you can access on modern Japanese televisions, not unlike programming listings for DVR, satellite, and other such set-top setups. The concept art is a legitimate part of the screenshot, the reason for which will be apparent in the translation. As for the that:
"The Icons of Persona: Got a character from the world of Persona you just can't get enough of? Then dive into the treasure trove of character art by renowned artist Shigenori Soejima, filled to the brim with pieces that'll whet your appetite!"
I had to play pretty loosely with that translation since the original Japanese uses a lot of characteristically fragmented statements that would just sound awkward in English if translated directly. But yeah, it seems to be a program that's about concept art and whatnot. Judging by how it's framed in the TV guide, it looks like it's a three-part series, whatever that actually means in practice for the game.

To be fair, when a game's asking you about etymologies of certain words and where melons can grow, it can be as obtuse as it wants. Besides, Banjo Tooie did the exact same shit, and that game was still damn awesome.

Especially considering how she manages an even more annoying voice than Teddie, and Teddie sucks as a fighter. It's a double lose-lose.
You know what? I'm actually considering getting a Vita because of another game. Every word I hear about this one makes me want it more and more, if only to play Persona 4 again/actually finish it this time.
@AndrewB:
I wonder how somebody could justify using Teddie through the game. "Hmmm, a character with no real focus at the moment, whose spells already exist in some form with my other party members, AND makes an annoying sound whenever I so much as nudge my analog stick? Sign me the fuck up!"

Actually, Teddie is probably the best party member in the game. Its either him or Yosuke depending on what you value more. Teddie's got the best skillset in the game, but Yosuke fits in pretty much any team combination and is never a redundant addition.
I have to disagree with this ", a character with no real focus at the moment, whose spells already exist in some form with my other party members"! Teddie's got Ice spells(Chie never progesses past Bufula, so she doesn't count), he learns the heavier healing spells up to 10 levels earlier than Yukiko(like when he joins and gets Mediarama immediately!) and he has a nifty collection of buffs, which are super-useful in P4.
Kanji is. For me, at least. He was just too fuckin' powerful, oh my god. Seriously, making the MC the healer-buffer of the party was the best decision i could ever make in P4. The damage everyone dealt was just sooooo big.@Video_Game_King said:

She never progresses past Bufula? Unless Naoto turns out to be super awesome (I hope she does), I have a good idea of who my final party's gonna be. (It's still not gonna involve Teddie.)
@Video_Game_King: naoto is the opposite of super awesome unless you like burning SP casting light and dark spells

It would only be the Junes Maskot.
Then how would you have her and Teddie in the party simultaneously?
Junes didn't have a mascot. They passed Teddie off as a mascot, so perhaps Junes would have officially adopted him as their mascot after the fact. But before Teddie, there was no Junes mascot.
Man...really getting tempted to buy a Vita now. That way I could have both P4 and P3 wherever I go. I just don't see any place in my schedule for a Portable Gaming system.
(Dammit, the game will also have a total of three new trip/event type things. Considering the original events are some of my favorite moments in video games, I can't not pick this up)

Naoto gets a lot better after you find an accessory that cuts SP usage in half. I think it's called the Chakra Ring?
Anyway, Naoto is awesome for random battles after you get that.
I believe you can only get that if you date Rise in Christmas. At the end of the game.@SlightConfuse said:

Andriasang just posted some new screenshots, by the way. http://andriasang.com/con0m3/p4_golden_screens/
Of note: some kind of messaging thing? Other than that, a lot of them are the same as the link posted earlier.

Do your dreams involve a younger Nanako? Because that's not cool.
