So... anime convention in Raleigh NC is having a Persona 4 panel. The characters of Persona 4 are hosting the panel and fun hi jinks are supposed to ensue. Has this been done for other video games before? How does this work? I am truly considering going to the panel for at least this day to see this. They are also having a Persona 4 Arena Ultimax tourney. I feel really weird though interacting with video game characters on a panel. How do you talk about playing the game with them? Would love to reference the Endurance Run but not sure how to do so.

The characters of it are hosting it as in the voice actors? Or as in just people dressing up as the characters and playing the part. Either way, sounds neat. Definitely go

I am not sure if it is the voice actors - they don't have the voice actors on the guest list. (I would think that would be something that would get a mention). Guest list here http://www.animazement.com/guests/. The panel is described as "The Persona 4 crew are here from Inaba to hang out with you guys! Join us for a beary fun panel featuring a Q and A session, King's Game, and Group Date Cafe!". So no help there. Oddly they also have an odd Japanese game panel - lasts two hours. Not nearly long enough AND a Mario Party panel ... Dan isn't coming to Raleigh is he?

Are Atlus like Square Enix in that they have official actors who play each character at events (most recently SE does with Final Fantasy XV)? Because if so, other than a few of the Lara Croft impersonators, they are generally some of the most boring people to see at an event (though they are interesting to talk to when not on-the-job/near one the PR people).
