So I'm going to be getting a PS3 probably next month.  I already have an xbox so I'm really interested in what the best ps3 exclusives are that  I should pick up first.  Heavy rain looks pretty good and I'm also interested in Valkyria Chronicles.  Anyone have any suggestions?

ModNation Racers, InFAMOUS, Metal Gear Solid 4, Little Big Planet, Uncharted 1 + 2, God of War 3, Fat Princess (PSN), Ratchet and Clank: Future (all of them), 3D Dot Game Heroes, Demon's Soul's, Heavenly Sword (Its super cheap now), WipeOutHD (PSN), Resistance: Fall of Man, Warhawk, Killzone 2.

• Uncharted 1+2
• Ratchet and Clank
• InFamous
• Demons Souls
• GoW collection (if you haven't played them on ps2, supper cheap, look great, long)
• GoW 3
  
• Trine (don't think this ever made it to 360)
  

Disgaea 3 is good if your a fan of tactical turn based RPGs.

  With LBP I can't help but wonder if you wouldn't be better off waiting for LBP2 as it will be backwards compatible with LBP.  There are other games that people have mentioned but haven't had the chance to play them myself so can't recommend as yet. "

I've never played any of the previous MGS games.  Would I be totally lost?

i am kinda surprised it went down like that. paid all that money and made everyone wait all that time just to have a steamy turd.. Square doesnt seem to know wtf they are doing anymore. 

For download games, Flower, PJ Eden, Flow, Trine, Warhawk and Super Stardust HD. For disc games Valkyria Chronicles, Motorstorm: Pacific Rift, Uncharted/2, inFamous and Killzone 2. 
 
Games to stay away from are Lair and Haze.

Where is it super cheap now?  Heavenly Sword is something I was interested in trying but every time I look around for it it's near full price (unless you buy used, which I don't). "

I've only played five exclusives, but I'd rank them as follows: 
 

1. Valkyria Chronicles - The only strategy RPG I've ever enjoyed. Excellent game. 4 stars.
2. inFamous - If you like the idea of being a superhero or supervillain, you'll love this. 4 stars.
3. Killzone 2 - Okay game. Has some great moments, but they're few and far between. 3 stars.
4. God of War III - Feels like a 10-hour quick-time event in which you only ever press two buttons, and neither timing nor coordination matter. 2 stars.
5. Ratchet & Clank: Quest for Booty - Couldn't even keep playing after the first level. If you're a fan of having fun, stay away. 2 stars.

For me the "must have" exclusives have been inFamous, LittleBig Planet, Heavy Rain, Valkyria Chronicles, and Demon's Souls. God of War III also looks pretty cool but I haven't beaten the first two yet so I have no valid reason to buy that. Never liked Metal Gear Solid but I hear Guns of the Patriots is pretty damn amazing. Kill Zone 2 is supposed to be good too but I played the demo and it's just not for me. The PS3 also has some pretty good exclusive downloadable games, Flower probably being the best and mose well-known.

• Ratchet and Clank: A Crack in Time
• Uncharted 2 (Perhaps get number 1 as well, it's nowhere near as good though)
• Demon's Souls
• Fat Princess
• MGS4 along with a PS2 (if the model you're getting isn't BC) and MGS, MGS2 and most importantly MGS3
