If you liked Oblivion then get Fallout 3, if you didn't then get Mirror's Edge.

If you haven't played Oblivion then probably get Fallout 3.

I'd definitely suggest Fallout 3. It's a much longer game with a hell of a lot more depth, so will last you a lot longer.

Is Fallout 3 also a good fast paced game like Mirror's Edge. I don't get much time to play games, so maybe the depth won't be a good idea for me somehow. I like to jump into action right away, maybe play for an hour or two and tuck myself in.

But I see everyone likes Fallout 3 here.

    Fallout 3 = 25-100 hours of gameplay
Mirrors Edge = 5-8 hours of gameplay + time trials

You're definitely going to get more bang for your buck out of Fallout 3, both in terms of play time and gameplay.

Mirror's Edge is a great game.  It has some really creative ideas in it and I enjoyed it a lot.  That being said, if you only have enough to buy one game, that probably means you're going to want your money to go as far as possible.  Fallout 3 is your best bet here.  you will probably get a good 15-20 hours minimum out of it.  I beat the game at about hour 25 and am currently at 35 hours without completing every quest.

Well, I went and played Fallout 3 at a friend's place. Started a new game and played through and reached the first town which has a bomb lying in middle.

Anyways, seemed like a great game and really long! What I needed was a game in which I can jump right into action, Mirror's Edge does that. So I went ahead and got myself Mirror's Edge. It's fast paced. Even though I purchased it 3 days ago, I only played 2 levels because I don't get much time to play in the first place. And now Killzone 2 is out as well! I don't think I will be going for Fallout 3 any time soon. Maybe when I get a vacation.

    Thanks guys.

I prefered Mirror's Edge but you know everyones different. To me Fallout 3 was a horrible buggy and boring game that hadn't evolved since Oblivion and still complaints from that game exist.....

Fallout 3.  It has a lot more to offer.  I've played both games.  I spent 40 hours playing Fallout 3 and about 8 hours playing Mirror's Edge.  You should probably still get Mirror's Edge once it gets cheap though.

Fallout 3. Most definitely. Nothing wrong with other, it's just....a bit short and frustrating. Still, pick Fallout.

I found Fallout 3 extremely boring, I would rent both before purchasing, seriously.

I see Fallout 3 is loved more.

Is Fallout 3 very similar to Oblivion, the difference being the setting and guns in place of magic? I hated Oblivion!

Fallout 3. Oh sweet hell, Fallout 3. It is an incredible game.

Also if you are wanting time for your money... Fallout 3 is for sure worth that. I've got 48 hours into Fallout 3 now and am about only halfway through the main quest line with numerous side quests left to do. As long as you like exploring, and a nuclear apocalyptic wasteland sparks your interest... Fallout 3 is your game without a question.

I do not find Fallout 3 similar to the extent that you are talking about. What was it that you hated about Oblivion? If it was the open world, open ended type of game play, then maybe you need something a bit more structured in that regard.

I know some call Fallout 3 "Oblivion with guns" but I feel it is much more than that. They took fundamentals from Oblvion and polished them, tweak them, perfected them and introduced new concepts into Fallout 3. I do admit, I am biased as I really love the game.. but its for sure not just "Oblivion with guns."

Well, Fallout 3 is on sale here for 45 bucks. Will think about getting it by the time I beat Mirror's Edge and if I can stop myself from spending on Street Fighter 4 (I can't resist it!)

To be fair, Fallout 3 isn't loads longer if you only count the main quest (at least if you're a Speech character and skip a couple of fetch-quests).

But of course it's the side-quests that give you value in F3.

    Buy Fallout, rent Mirror's Edge.

Well yesterday I stumbled upon a local forum here in Oman and got Fallout 3 for 32 bucks. Good! Used of course.
