I've been wanting to buy a PS3 for a while now and finally got the Slim & Uncharted 2 bundle this week. I paid €199.99 after using some vouchers I'd been holding on to, and they threw in Fifa 10 with the bundle as well.

I am primarily a PC gamer, so in almost all cases I will still be buying the PC version of any game I want that comes out. I've ordered Killzone 2 and Valkyria Chronicles, but I was hoping you guys could offer any suggestions for worthwhile PS3 games I should consider buying, either released or in the future - preferably being console/PS3 exclusives. To narrow it down, at the moment I'm not really interested in MGS4 or Infamous, despite their obvious popularity.

On a more specific note, despite the apparently frustrating gameplay that comes with Demon's Souls, something about that game has drawn me to it, and perhaps anyone who has played the game could advise whether I should or should not bother importing it. Thanks!

Heavenly Sword is a great game that was heavily criticized for being too short.  Still, since the game should be really cheap now, you should consider picking it up.

Not MGS4? Really? That game blew me away. The Infamous demo didn't do much for me though, and LittleBIGPlanet is great for casual four player platforming. I can't think of any other games that you can't find on the PC; I played the hell out of Fallout 3 on my PS3.

Once you're done with the singleplayer experience, I found that the multiplayer portion of Uncharted 2 was surprisingly solid.

    Happy gaming!

I'll add that to my list, thanks!

I already own GTA IV on the PC, but Ninja Gaiden intrigues me. Can't say I'm a big fan of getting pissed off with difficult games (I found parts of Prototype really frustrating), but it looks good and I actually like the kinda DMC style gameplay.

I will eventually pick up Infamous and MGS - after playing the demo, Infamous just feels too similar to Prototype for me at the moment, and as for MGS, I may actually go back and play the games in the series I missed out on before taking on 4.
I'm seriously considering buying all three Ratchet games for the PS3, haven't played one since the original on PS2 which I loved. Rythm games aren't really my thing, but Dj Hero is somewhat appealing to me, might have better luck with the deck controller than I've had with plastic guitars in the past!

Nice PC case, by the way.  My brother bought the same model, and runs the fans to sound like jet engines.

@Binman88: Ninja Gaiden is a super fun game that's so satisfying while being hard as hell at the same time. it's really worth your money and it should be at a reasonable price now.

Batman: Arkham Asylum has some extra Joker content. It's not significant but given the option it's better to go with the PS3 version over 360.

Dude, I recommed that you buy these games immediately:

    - Demon's Souls
    - TES IV Oblivion (if you do not already own it on PC/Xbox 360)
    - Metal Gear Solid 4

For PS1 classics you should get Metal Gear Solid 1, Resident Evil 1, Final Fantasy 7, Final Fantasy Tactics........that is if you do not already own these on the PS1.

Welcome to the darkside my friend.

I'd recommend Killzone 2, Little Big Planet and Demon Souls. As for Classics you should obviously get FF7 and Meal Gear Solid.

Already completed it on the PC, wish they'd put the Joker content on there as well at some point as DLC. It's a Windows Live game, so they could feasibly do it.

I'm almost sold on Demon's Souls. I would have to import the US version of the game from Gamestop of all places, it would end up costing me about 75 bucks, or €50 - is it worth going for it?

Yea I played through and loved it on PC. Control issue was a Vsync thing that made the mouse feel really slow and laggy, but it was completely fixable.

Decided to buy Demon's Souls and the first Ratchet and Clank Future game. Importing them from Canada, decided to go for the Deluxe version of Demon's Souls for the heck of it, should have them both next week!

    Demon's Souls, period.

The Giantbomb team needs to man up and play this game, what a bunch of sissies. This is by far the best game on the PS3 so far - my copy of Uncharted 2 is gathering dust because I'm playing too much Demon's Souls.

Demon's Souls huh? From who and how much are you importing it for? I wanted to order a copy of it but I don't know who would sell a relatively inexpensive copy and ship it to Dublin at a fair price.

Also, congrats and the PS3 Slim. It's a nice little console. Stilly pretty heavy but excellent overall.

Is anyone else having trouble finding Demon's Souls in stores? The only store that I think has it is Gamestop, and I was buying Borderlands that particular day that I saw it. I may just order the deluxe edition online once I'm done 100% with Borderlands which kicks ass by the way, I also recommend anyone to go get it.

Ordered it from http://www.videogamesplus.ca/. It worked out at around €50 for Demon's Souls (€75 altogether including Ratchet and Clank and shipping). I'll have to pay import tax when it arrives - I'll let you know how much I'm charged for it as I'm in Dublin too. My order seemed to go through alright, but now their site is listing the deluxe edition as "back order", so not sure if I'll actually get it next week :(

I recommend MGS4 even though you seem negative on it.I hate MGS as a series, but MGS4 is impressive. If you enjoy anime style fighters done well, then Blazblue:Calamity Trigger is a must have.Blazblue isn't exclusive, but I recommend it on the PS3 over the 360 because of the graphical advantage and the controller. If you're gonna get into Ninja Gaiden, then I say Sigma 2....but it's full price and Sigma might be better to start off with.

As for upcoming exclusives, keep your eyes on these:

    God of War 3
MAG (Massive Action Game,an online FPS hosting 256 players and every character is human controlled)
Mod Nation Racers (It's like Little Big Planet, but kart racing and character creation)
Final Fantasy 13 (Yes,I know it's not exclusive...but why buy it on the 360 now that you have a PS3?)
Final Fantasy Versus 13(Same atmosphere as FF13,but whole new game)

GoW3 is definitely on my list. I liked what I saw of Mod Nation racers at E3 too, looking forward to seeing how that's received.

€50, not including import tax huh? You might as well buy it here...that is, if there even is a European release. Hope you get your games anyway, buying from overseas is never hassle-free.

The strategy guide is very useful (it explains the black/white tendency stuff and gives stats of almost all enemies you encounter), but if you can't get it there's a demon's souls wiki you can browse.

Deluxe Edition is no longer being made. Back-order means it's out of stock for good. Contact them and find out if that's the case. "
Yea I figured as much, though it was apparently in their stock when I ordered it. I'll check it out tomorrow and settle for the standard edition if needs be! "
The strategy guide is very useful (it explains the black/white tendency stuff and gives stats of almost all enemies you encounter), but if you can't get it there's a demon's souls wiki you can browse. "
My order status was changed to "processing" this morning, so fingers crossed I wasn't too late! I'm a sucker for limited editions of games, but in this case I actually just really prefer the box art on the deluxe.

You must be so poor if you buy limited edition games. On the other hand, you've got a lot of swanky stuff. I'll say you get the limited edition, since you ordered it at the time so they can't cheat you by giving you the standard edition.

Most I've ever spent on a limited edition game is about €30, i.e. the exact same price for the standard edition. I'm talking Steelbook versions, not the collector's editions with artbooks and what not. At ~€55 this will be the most money I've spent on a non-standard edition, not counting the AC2 black edition I'm getting next year! Also, having a job ensures I'm not poor.

I played the demo of Dirt 2 and I'll probably pick it up for PC next year. The game isn't really aimed at me though, the more serious aspects of rallying appeal to me more. Hopefully WRC 2010 will bring back that style next year.

Do you like platformers? I just bought a PS3 as well and I must say I really enjoy Rachet and Clank: A Crack in Time. If theres a game rental service like Gamefly there, then you should pick this one up first. Wipeout HD is another good exclusive worth looking into.

I do, and I plan to get all three from the Ratchet and Clank: Future series, so I've ordered the first one and I'll work my way through them!

The God of War enhanced collection (for the ps3) is probably a good choice.  Not out yet, but it'll be coming before GoW 3.

Hey, hopefully that's a good sign :) And, yeah, as someone that pre-ordered the Deluxe edition, the strategy guide is totally worth it. It helps when you're starting out and want to figure out which weapons/armour/powerups you'd like to develop. As far as the cover art's concerned, you get both. The Asian version art is on the cardboard slip-cover, the North American art is on the plastic PS3 game case. No matter which edition you end up with, though, the game is totally bad-ass.

@Fbomb: Just got an email update telling me that it's been shipped! Should hopefully have it by the end of the week. Hope they don't pull a fast one and end up sending me the standard edition for the deluxe price! Can't wait to play it anyway after all the good things I've heard, and as for the 'bad' things I've heard about it, I guess that's where the strategy guide will come in handy.

That's the only console-exclusive game I can think of. I have a review of it if you're interested. Another game I'll mention which is also on PC, but came out semi-recently is Batman: Arkham Asylum. If you haven't checked it out on PC yet, I recommend it. I didn't think I'd like it myself, but rented it and really loved it.
