The PlayStation 3 (often abbreviated PS3) is the third home video game console created and released by Sony Computer Entertainment Inc.
How do you organise your PS3 collection?
One of them is on the floor behind my PC, the others are laying next too my only Bluray(Waterworld) near my PC games.
Oh the shelf alphabetically. I keep my currently playing, recently played games next to the console itself.
I used to have everything alphabetical, but i stopped caring. i just have them all on a shelf. but i have them all organized online on my backlog.
PS, those of you who like to keep track of what games you need to beat, the backloggery is a great site. http://backloggery.com/captain_clayman is my profile.
also, cheapassgamer has a really good backlog feature too.
I too sort them alphabetically but it still looks like a mess. There really are so many variations for ps3 game cases
i currently only have 8 or 9 physical copies (the others are downloaded on the systeam) but i just organise them by Franchise, which i think is the best way to do it.
Screw Alphabeticle!
All one shelf, Alphabetical order. I sometimes keep new games out of the shelf until i'm done with them.
Primarily in Alphabetical order with attention to series order but I do have two subdivisions. I have one section for my 3D games and another for everything else.
All my PS3 games are on one shelf, but in no particular order. I can close my eyes, pick a game, and not have any clue what the hell i will be playing. I have never actually done this, but the possibility is always open.
I put all my games in alphabetical order. I only have 3 360 games on the top shelf because they are the only ones worthy of being displayed, Gears Triple Pack, Gears of War 3, and The Orange Box. Then I have all my PS3 games going across and down to the next 2 shelves, then PS2, PS1, Wii, and then GC games. I have another shelf on the other side of the room and that's where all the unmentionables go. Running out of room though. I'll probably have to start taking down DVD's on the shelf next to it to make room.
Btw, to the thread starter, it's not UNcomplete, it's INcomplete. Not to sound like a douche, but yeah...

Alphabetical is the best if you have a lot of games, easy to find and keeps franchises together for the most part.
None of my games are organised, i stick them on the shelf, sometimes on top of one another, upside down and back to front, and are even mixed in with my 360 and pc games, sometimes recently played games sit on top my PS3 for quick access.
The only collection that is organised is My Steam collection since its automatically alphabetically in order.
I do like for things to be organized, so some days I'll sit down and organize my shelf into ABC order. But there's a snag here - my shelf is large enough for two rows of games, one in front of the other, so say the ABC's are in the front row and I want to play Star Wars The Force Unleashed - that means I have to move all of my front row games to get to it, then put the disc in the Xbox, then put the case back. And when I want to switch games, I have to do all of that again.
So, generally, my games just end up with the ones I'm currently playing in front and the ones I don't care for at the moment are in the back.
I just put them on a shelf, no alphabetizing or anything. I have a hard enough time putting new albums into my 500+ cd collection. So i don't need more shit to shift around.
1) When a game gets purchased, I scan it into my Delicious Library database. It then goes on my unfinished pile of games, that chills next to my PS3. This stack is usually never more than 4-5 games (or I don't buy new ones). These games aren't actually ordered in any real way.
2) When a game gets finished, I make note on the Delicious Library database and then move it over to a shelf on the other side of my room. These games are in alphabetical order.
3) When a friend borrows a game (anything from the finished section of the database as long as they don't already have a game borrowed), I make note of what game/who in the database.
4) When returned, goes back into the finished category.
I organize all my games this way:
Alphabetical by system - Alphabetical by series - release date of game
So PS3 games end up between my PS2 games and my SNES games, then the games are alphabetical if they are the only game in the series or if, in the case of Demon's Souls and Dark Souls, they are in a series, they go in alphabetical by the series name. Normally, they would still end up in alphabetical order by game name, but Demon's Souls and Dark Souls end up in the S section since they are part of the "Souls" series, and because I have them ordered by release date, Demon's Souls ends up before Dark Souls.

I ethically disagree with your handling of the Dark Souls/Demon's Souls conundrum. They are technicallynot in the same series, and therefore are not a series/franchise and should thus be filed alphabetically under the 'D' section, Dark Souls first.

@HatKing: Technically, yes, you're correct. However, by that line of thinking Final Fantasy is less of a series, granted FF shares the name between games. Dark Souls, while not a sequel to Demon's Souls, is 1. made by the same company, 2. same director, 3. same producer, and 4. has similar gameplay. Sounds like a series to me, and gets sorted as such.
Final Fantasy is totally a series, they're just episodic, in that there isn't an over-arching story. While I agree the games are totally similar, and share much in common, I wouldn't be able to justify counting them as a series in my collection. haha... But that's a totally fair line of reasoning you have.
Alphabetically by game system, and if there is a series by release order. I worked too many years in a video store to do it any other way.
Alphabetical order is the best way for me. However, in certain situations like deciding whether Dark Souls or Demon's Souls comes first, I would then put them in chronological order.
