Is it me or do Playstation 3 games just look better than 360 games? It may be just my mind playing tricks on me, but I really think Blu ray makes a huge difference. Is anyone else on my side? (side note, I still love the Xbox 360)

I think multiplatform games usually look the same...if you sit and nitpick you might notice a blurry crack or something on the PS3.  360 is just a lot easier to program for.

PS3 exclusives on the other hand made by people that know the hardware...yeah, some might look better.  Hate to sound like a broken record but Killzone 2 comes to mind.  I really wish sony offered a program like XNA like microsoft does.  I want to tinker and test the PS3's limits for myself...

Multiplatform games tend to look a tad better on the 360 because most of them are made from the ground up on the 360 and then ported to the PS3... so the PS3 always gets the shit end of the stick. The PS3's hardware is far superior to the 360's, but we've probably only seen about 65% (my guess) of what it can do graphically. When you look at games like MGS4 and Killzone 2... you don't see anything like that on the 360. Gears of War looks great, but it's simply not on the level of the PS3's top games.

    So, my vote is:
Most games on PS3 < Most games on 360
Top games on PS3 > Top games on 360

Yeah I don`t notice to much of a difference, if any at all, but with a few games, the ps3 does have the upper hand, but I could also say the same for the 360, they both have there strength`s and weaknesses.

Any difference is so minor that it really doesn't matter. Both systems can pull off great graphics and it's as simple as that.

I dun even understand why people pick at multiplatform games cuz... really they're working with the same resources to make the game and for the most part you aren't going to see major differences unless a dev 1/2 asses a version cuz they're lazy. But I think Wii games beat both PS3 and 360 in terms of graphx! :P

Blu-ray doesn't make any difference. That's just the storage device. It means they can fit more on the game disc, but that has no direct effect on the image on screen.

This is the rule of thumb. Games developed primarily for the PS3 look slightly - but noticeably - better. But most multiplatform titles to date have been developed for the 360 first since most developers prefer working with it.

It depends on which game and which system it was made for first really.  Most so far look better on 360, but we'll see more being optimized for the PS3 in the future.

It's noteworthy that a lot of third-party developers are starting to make the PS3 their lead platform, which'll eliminate a lot of the problems we've experienced in the past with inferior third-party ports.

It really doesn't matter to me.  As long as they both look great and play good then I'm ok.

I own both systems I really think the games look great on both systems.  I think it comes down to which controller you prefer and where your friends are.  I have more friends playing the 360 so I play more games on that system.

No, that's not taste. 360 has proven on many occasions to be superior graphically. PS3 almost always has faster load times due to the installs though.

I disagree. I think it's more of a fault the developers for not getting their head around the PS3. Some devs make beautiful work on the machine with both exclusives and multiplatform games while others fall behind and are obviously struggling to understand the hardware. That doesn't make the 360's hardware "stronger" as much as it is "famiular".

It's like if you have only MSPaint to work with for ever and there are a lot of people who have gotten use to it and are able to make the best of it and then Bam photoshop comes along, people are baffled by it and try their best but it's obvious that it takes time to learn it's quirks and really creat art with it.

Ok... maybe that's a bad analogy? I just called the 360 MSPaint... lol. :P You get what I'm trying to say tho right? It's not that the PS3 lacks the power, it's that the devs lack the understanding.

Ahh very true. I think the best "looking" games you'll see for each system are games that are exclusive to that system.
