Some people will think this is complete BS, but my PS3 just stopped playing games and movies as a whole, thus, I need to get a coffin. A couple questions:

1. I downloaded Super Stardust HD, if I get a new PS3, I should be able to re download that game for free, or have it already on my PS3 when I sign in, right?

2. I'll still be a level 55 in COD4, right? Lol.

PSN keeps a record of your account's (which you just put on your new PS3) downloads, so you'll just need to re-download it.

And CoD4 ranks are kept on the server, so your fine.

Dude, I don't think COD4 ranks are kept on the server.
My friends PS3 broke and I'm sure when he sent it away and got a replacement his COD4 rank reset.
I could be wrong though.

Now that I think of it, my friend's PS3 died cause of GTA4, and his rank is still the same. So I guess no worries.

Call Sony, could be because of the FW. :P

Before you go buy another one. You should contact Sony to see if they can help you.

Yeah its all in your PSN account,as soon as you get back online with another PS3 soon as you make a new username and 'recover existing account' and log in, just go to the PSN store,and click "Downloads" all your downloads are there and ready for you to just redownload, for free.

Yes you just hit download list when you enter the store

Yep, your PS3 does not store your online stats

Cod4 ranks are saved, don't worry - I got 2 ps3's, and I usually switch between them depending on friends on visit.. It downloads the player data as soon as you enter multiplayer with the appropiate account.. The only thing it doesn't save, is the names for your custom gear..they'll be blank, so have to reinsert names there..
