Hey guys, I bought a PS3 about a month ago, so I am now looking forward to the plethora of Sony-exclusive titles in 2011.

However, my usual go-to retailer, Amazon.com, does not have free release-day delivery for ANY of the Sony titles... LittleBigPlanet 2, Killzone 3, inFamous 2, Resistance 3, Uncharted 3... NONE of them have free release delivery for preordering.

So what the fuck is with that? I assume this is a Sony decision... but I might be mistaken. Does Sony not want me to pre-order their game? Kinda dumb... Has this been a trend for Sony?

Sometimes Amazon doesn't start offering release day delivery on a title until it's closer to release. On several occasions I've pre-ordered a game with two-day shipping and later gotten an e-mail saying that I've been upgraded to release-day delivery.

That sucks. 
 
If it were a Sony decision than that would mean that they have to pay for the shipping themselves so they might not think it's worth it.

Well obviously there is a conspiracy against the PS3. You should rage and boycott.

Weird.  I guess you could just wait an extra day.  Not really a big deal.

I think this is Sony's choice, not Amazon's... but I could be mistaken.

@Jayross: Do you even know what Amazon Prime is, dumbass? My LittleBigPlanet 2 will be here tomorrow, release day. As is everything else I ever order. 
 

Day one video games are serious business.

I buy all my games from Amazon. I buy a lot of games. Every game I bought as a preorder had release date delivery. Best guess I have done that for 30 games.

Amazon says they can't guarantee release date delivery... so they list it as two-day or whatever, but that doesn't mean it won't arrive on release day. Strange.

Yea, it sucks that KZ3 doesn't have release-date delivery. I had to pre-order it from Best Buy... 
 
I don't think this is Amazon's fault though, since they've had RDD for all of Sony game's in the past (except WKC I believe). Might be Sony themselves that are responsible for this...

Is it really that hard to walk to a store on release day and just buy it? 
 
I've never had to preorder anything in my life. I just walk to the store and get it release day. I've never seen anyone sell out of games before, only consoles.
