Can we stop complaining on the 2 ports in PS3? 
Common! Realy.  
USB ports are like space on HDD. Its never enough. 
You need one for PS EYE. 
The second one is for synchronizing Your things with console and eventually connecting external memory units. Unlike XBOX360, You can copy media to PS3 HDD.
That is NOT RECHARGABLE Station!!!
If You own lots of controllers buy charging station. 
SONY made a good thing. They are the only ones, who made all their controllers with built in baterries. 
But it looks that after that they are blamed for lack of USB ports on the system. 
Just think how nuch You have to pay extra for competitors batteries.

I wasn't aware that we were complaining.

My computer has three ports. But I've only used two at a time, just like my PS3. I don't know, it's never bothered me :/

I've got one with 4 ports and 2 with 2 USB ports. 
Doesn't bother me though. 
If I need more USB ports I just use the super cheap USB Hub I have that has 22 USB ports in it.

Define new. I've recently activated my profile. It took me a while after they launched multi-passes. This was usual topic discussed many times on Bombcast.  And the number was never justified. But maybe You are right. I broke one of my ports on my 3 1/2 year old 40gb PS3, so I've been running on one port for over a year now and I'm perfectly fine. I'm not sure why anyone would complain about having only 2 ports.

I have 4 ports on my 60GB launch. 
It really needed 5 ports though. :-p

I have 4 ports in my BC 80gig PS3.

Until the PS3 has 478 USB ports it will always be considered a failure and a piece of shit in my book.  

The original mark 1/2 uk versions were the best. They had EVER port going at the time plus a hardware ps2 emulator inside.  

Personally I miss the 4 ports but yeah there's no reason why you can't pick up a cheap usb hub.

It would be nice with a USB port on the back of the PS3 for the EyeToy Camera...

I bought a 7-port USB hub to connect everything I need :

- 2 Buzz controllers receivers
- 1 RF keyboard receiver
- 1 PSEye
- 1 SD card reader 
- 1 cable to recharge controllers
- 1 occasionnal thumbdrive
 
And it does not look like a mess.
The hub is connected with a right-angle usb cable on the PS3 and is stored in a drawer underneath (via hole in the back of the drawer unit).

This is such a random topic, nobody was complaining and I've never really heard of this complaint before.

My PS3 only has two ports, so I bought a four-port USB hub. Then my two Rock Band guitars and my Rock Band keyboard each have two more ports. So now I have eight USB ports with all those plugged in.

People I normally hear that complains about it are the people who wants to play Rock Band. USB dongles for the Guitars, drums and the mic. and now also the Keyboard and added in Beatles, more mics!   "

i'm not complaining about that either. i use the two for mic and controller charger. there is nothing wrong with it.
