Its a 250gig slim and the first game i got for it was infamous. I beat infamous in about 2 weeks and just loved it, and then i stopped playing it for a while, i picked up MW2s multiplayer on my 360 but now since my brother has my xbox i have to play my ps3, ive got some time to kill waiting for this update, what game should i get for it, right now i have Dead Space, Red Faction Guerilla, and Infamous. Any ideas what my next one should be? I dont have much money so im looking for something in the 20-35$ range.

MGS4, or Uncharted 1

Save money and get RDR. Or get Killzone 2

I had those but i traded them back in, i LOVED uncharted 1, was never a fan of MGS, i just dont see how hiding under a box is a "stealth action game".

Get uncharted 2, it's really the only exclusive I can think of that is worth playing, oh fuck I forgot. Heavy Rain, get that game too. 

Mirror's Edge is a great game, but the first 4 or 5 hours can be rough since it takes a long time to get good at the controls. Burnout Paradie is another great game that's cheap nowadays. It has great online co-op too. Motorstorm: Pacific Rift is also fantastic. I think I sunk about 160 hours into it and the expansions.
 
Killzone 2 is OK. The online is kind of shit because all the maps are based on the single player levels, which were designed for a 4 player squad. As a result, all of the online maps are too small for 32 players. Even if the maps were big enough, they always have the objective in 1 place so everybody just puts a mobile spawn point there and spawns into a cluster fuck of turret and shotgun fire. People were complaining about spawn protection so they patched it out of the game so spawn killing is even worse now. The single player is pretty great though, as long as you know what happened in Killzone 1 and Killzone Liberation.

If you're lucky you might be able to find Uncharted 2 for $35.

Try Midnight Club LA Complete Edition.

Burnout Paradise is at the PSN store and great fun to play for cheap.

Demon's Souls!

I'll back up Folklore...that is a very interesting game and is pretty damn good once it gets going though it's a bit of a slow burn. 
 
I also would recommend both Uncharted games, Heavy Rain, MGS4 (why i bought my system), and Valkyria Chronicles.  All are very solid games and make me glad i have a PS3.   
 
And if your looking to play FFXIII the PS3 version is a the better version to play honestly.  But that game is very up and down and i don't know your tastes so i won't hardcore recommend it.

killzone 2 and mag

I just got one also. The only disc game I have is Heavy Rain, and it's a fucking awesome game. System seller, IMHO. I also picked up the Pixel Junk games last week while they were half off on PSN. Over all, I am satisfied with the content to price ratio.
 
Looks like SOCOM and Warhawk are on sale for $15 each this week on PSN. Are those worth it?

Definitely the PixelJunk Games and Valkyria Chronicles. Those games are awesome. MGS4 is great fun, and I really enjoyed Skate. I would say that Valkyria Chronicles is a system seller to me, that game was very fun (if a bit cliche).
