See that's where you're wrong, stop being a fanboy and learn to appreciate all consoles. Also, the PS3 firmware updates are fast, unless you have a crappy Internet connection and the online is also good.

I don't really get the point of this post are you trying to get some support for your new purchase? ... lol 
 
I had a PS3 for a while, I didn't really like it although I definitely got my fair share of play out of some of those better known exclusives. I hated how much work it was to get into games with friends. On the 360, you can send an invite to your entire party or just join friends. The PS3 was a totally different story (might have changed).

I think owning a blu ray player is cool, if you have a 1080p display, I watch movies all the time.

I got my PS3 recently for all the crazy Japanese games that are available for it as well as the Blu-Ray player. As far as exclusives go, yeah Uncharted 2 is indeed deserving of its praise but the rest of the exclusives feel as run-of-the mill as most games feel to me now. 
 
Of course some of the upcoming exclusives seem really neat, like LBP2 but I also felt that way about the first one, and though it was charming, it didn't hold me that long.
 
I'd say go for it but don't forget about your Xbox 360, I haven't and I am happy with my consoles.

This.. pretty much. I can understand having a bias toward one console because you prefer it for one reason or another, but that's not being a fanboy. Fanboyism is a whole other level, and it makes gamers look like a group of bickering idiots. "

i play every multi-platform game on the 360, but i'd never sell my PS3. the blu-ray capability is too good. plenty of exclusives too.

I just picked up a ps3 yesterday, I was in the market for a bluray player, and the ps3 was on sale with a copy of madden11.  Sold the Madden11 on craigslist for $45, bought 2 bd movies on sale and a copy of uncharted 2.  
 
So far I'm happy with it, my xbox360 of 3 years is still alive and well (knock on wood), and I have a decent catalog of games for it, so it's not like I replaced, I just added to my options.

Firmware updates are no big deal. pretty painless and some of times they add cool stuff to the system. most of the time they add nothing.  
 
Ironically it seems like every time I turn on my damn 360 its gotta update! but I play it about once a year when a good exclusive comes out.

Uncharted 2 was the killer app that sold me on the system.  I prefer the X360 achievement system, but I think that might just be because I'm so far deep into it.  And the Blu-Ray player is a definite plus.

My PS 3 is used twice a month as a bluray-player. I havent played games on it since march - multiplatforms is mostly better on the X360.

I like owning a 360 and PS3; it's the best of both worlds. 

Maybe it's because I'm fortunate enough to own all 3 consoles, but I don't get all this fanboy bullshit. They're all pretty damn sweet if ya ask me.

Ps3 is the only console I have (money constraints) . I agree that PS3 has the better first party line up . 
 
 Unfortunately most of the third party games are just inferior ports of the 360. Its looking like EA are starting to use ps3 as  the primary platform but this is still the big problem for most games.

I think you'll really enjoy the PS3. Personally, it's my favourite console since the Dreamcast. The game line-up is fantastic. I think Sony are the best publisher on the planet at the moment. Again, it's my opinion, but no-one is pushing out the amount of varied, high-quality content as Sony are. I also think Move is a fantastic device; I checked it out recently and it works just aswell as the reports have been saying. It's INSANELY accurate.
 
I don't know about your experience on XBOX 360, but I think you'll love the PS3.
 
EDIT: Also - I see nothing wrong with being a "fan" of one system. I'm a PlayStation fan because I love the ethos surrounding the platform. I will never see that as a bad thing. It's just the jerks that do all that "Gay-lo" shit that are annoying. Never be ashamed of being a fan of anything. Just don't disregard everything else.

I am waiting for reviews of Playstation move to start popping up, (I think the embargo lifts September 1st), but I am strongly considering getting a Playstation Move Bundle with the 320gb hard-drive. Is that too much hard-drive space? I think it is, but if I am getting move and a ps3, I might aswell get the bundle.

Buy everything and then stfu and play games.
