Hi all! So I think my ps4 original may be on its way out. I was wondering if anyone has or would recommend the pro even if I won't be getting a 4k TV anytime soon? Does the added fps and boost mode effect games that much?

    Cheers,

@daveydave If you HAVE to change your PS4, I'd say go for a Pro if the price makes sense to you. I'm running one with a 1080p TV and differences in Boost Mode have varied between pretty subtle to not noticeable at all - Witcher 3, for instance, seems to stutter less and loading times are noticeably better with Boost. Check the Digital Foundry YouTube channel - They've done a few videos on Boost Mode.

@daveydave:the '4k' games being downsampled to 1080p look noticeably better to me as well. Especially Rise of the Tombraider and Horizon. Guess it may also depend how close or far you are from your screen. I sit pretty close, like 4 or 5 feet, from a 45 inch tv.

    Cheers,

Did you end up getting a Pro and if so, how does it run with your TV? I'm getting a Pro today and I have a 1080, so I'll be finding out myself soon.
