I just got my Home Open Beta today and was really excited. So I clicked on Home and downloaded and installed. I clicked on Home again, excepted the user agreement and was ready to begin my Home experience. But I pressed "X" to connect and it got as far as "signing in" when a window with this message popped up:
Request timed out

Any ideas on the problem and how to fix it?

PlayStation Home
Game » consists of 1 releases. Released Dec 11, 2008
PlayStation Home was a social games network where PSN users could play games and socialize. Home saw a refocus in Fall 2011 in North America and Europe that put more emphasis on games than social spaces.
I have a problem with Home
"Timed out" usually implies that the search for a connection has failed. It may be an issue with your PSN connectivity.
I also have the latest update and can't find the home icon anywhere. Is it suppose to be available in a canada as well?
Never playing Home again. Not only is it boring, but you have to pay REAL money for stuff in it?! Never again.
Yeah I got the same thing, this is still beta afterall. btw Home is not a game, so I don't know how one would 'play' home.
Its people that over criticize everything that makes Sony (or any dev) not bring demos and betas out. Seriously its free and optional.

So I guess under your determination of "play" then I guess sitting in a town, playing an RPG, and talking to townsfolk is not "playing" the game. No, guess you have to be fighting.

It seems like a neat concept, but the whole transition falls flat. To whoever says "it's just a beta," big deal. A beta is still a large part of the final product.

You use the programs, not play.
btw, finally got through in Home and its alright. A nice free expansion on the XMB is the way I look at it, and really its nothing more than that.
"Never playing Home again. Not only is it boring, but you have to pay REAL money for stuff in it?! Never again."Yup. That's what kills it. I want to play with all this cool stuff, try out dozens of shirts and new furniture. But it's just so prohibitively expensive.
