The Wii-remote in combination with the baseball mini-game in Wii Sports caused quite some TV to have a nice big hole in them so my question is will Playstation's new "original" controller be able to do the same? 
 
I'm leaning towards a "no" since i have been reading that the controller is quite light and feels somewhat fragile.

I really dont know. I have to educate myself a bit more before giving a final answare to what I belive. But I sure hope it will be awesome! From what I've seen of demonstrations so far it looks really good. I already got a Wii, but I only play it with friends. I would like a motion controler which is so accurate its possible to play games LIKE No More Heros but with more precision.
