So, hmm, when Sony said they were going to be making the PS+ service a better service, they sure as hell were not lying.

Free games this month (For US)

    Virtua Fighter 5 – June 5th

    inFAMOUS 2 – June 5th

    Little Big Planet 2 – June 5th

Ratchet and Clank: All 4 One – June 5th

    Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine – June 5th

    Just Cause 2 – June 5th

    Saints Row 2 – June 5th

Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light – June 5th

Hard Corp: Uprising – June 5th

    Choplifter HD – June 5th

Zombie Apocalypse Never Die Alone – June 5th

    Sideway NY – June 5th

All of these games can be yours today. I hear that the games are different in UK, but still about the same amount of games. Also, its still $17.99 for 3 months. If this doesn't make you want to subscribe to PS+, I don't know what will.

Edit: Here are the games available for free for UK subscribers.

Oh, didn't even know we had a PS+ page; I just would have posted this here.

But yeah, I'm pretty glad I decided to get a PS+ sub. Haven't played several of these games and I'll happily get them now.

@JeanLuc: Yes. If your sub is not active you can not play the games. For Free games that is. Anything you buy with a discount you get to keep.

If you stop your subscription, yes. But if you keep the games downloaded onto your hard drive while you aren't subbed, if you subscribe again, you retain the old games you downloaded.

From what people have said, I believe you'll lose access to all of the retail games when you lose access to PS+. That means games like VF5, inFamous 2 and such. You should be able to keep games that come with unlock codes (downloadable only ones), so that means Hard Corps, Lara Croft and such.

I was pretty stoked to find out VF5:FS was one of the games. I had inteded to get it on the 360 (and still do) but know I can play with more people. Also looking forward to playing Just Cause 2.

Seems Sony Switzerland didn't get the memo, because I just checked, and there's Bubkis of a change to the local PS+ offerings. Awesomenauts is all that's for free. Would have jumped on the PS+ hypetrain right now, but as always, everybody outside the US and the UK gets treated like dreck. Yay.

This doesn't start until the 5th, so that may be the reason.

Still though, HOLY FUCKING GOD AM I GLAD I RESUBSCRIBED

Any free game you get through PS+, you lose access to if you unsub to PS+. However, if you re-up, you gain access to them again.

I don't see how its better. Those aren't particularly fantastic games (except maybe arguably a few of them) and this isn't really any different then before. Or is it just because they are giving all of them at once?

Hmm I may activate my free month of PS+ I got when I bought my second PS3. Cheaper than actually buying Infamous 2 which after I beat I'll probably never play.

Starting to think it's their content-provider, or quite possibly a very large ISP's routing to it. Bad router on the way = worst speeds in history. Had to change ISP when that happened to me with an MMO a few years back.

I think that's just the way the PS3 works. Maybe opening up some ports on your router would work.

Note: I have no idea how to do that, but I'm always hearing Arthur Geiss talk about it on podcasts he's on.

Until your sub ends, however if they are not "purchased" in the store while they are available for free, they will not be able to be accessed for free.

Yeah it actually is a pretty sick lineup, wish I was in the crowd so I would have got the 1-year free subscription. I don't game enough where I think its worth it to me to pay for Ps+, and I definitely dont buy enough games on Ps+ for the discounts to make it worth it. Ah well, still cool for those who do have it though.

Pretty happy with the EU offerings!
    Darksiders, Outland, Warhammer, Motorstorm Apocalypse.
All games I've been fairly interested in but not enough to buy.
I wasn't going the renew PS+ but now I think I may reconsider.

Yes, it's bonkers. I don't have room for all these, so I've only downloaded the new version of VF5. But hit the "download" button for each of these, then back out, to mark them with a red shopping bag. Then they are waiting on your download list for as long as you are subscribed.

@Dallas_Raines: @FluxWaveZ: So 18 bucks to give Just Cause 2, Spayce Maurine, and Infamous 2 a whirl for 3 months? Plus whatever comes out the next couple months after that? Hmmm... And here I was thinking I was going to use these summer months to clean up my backlog a bit. The fool I was.

well if you want to be Mr negativity then sure but as you said you can argue a handful are pretty good games (Even could argue great games LBP2 & infamous 2 etc..) in which would be worth to give PlayStation plus a try at least (less than 20 bucks). Your also right about you lose the rights when your plus runs out but you can get it back when you re-up your plus status. Also I'm sure many people buy play then trade in games quite often, so what the big deal in playing the game and having fun and then letting it go if you don't want plus anymore.

On to topic I was just hoping Sony was adding new features to plus like include its perks with vita or increasing the cloud save space. Something to add more to the pot i mean i won't poo poo on free games but Sony needs to keep building great features because they can't keep giving away handfuls of free games every time.

@HarlequinRiot: You can turn on auto update and your playstation will turn on at anytime to download anything and everything you have set up. So even if your download is slow you can just set it to turn on at night.

@phantomzxro: I think you added a connotation that isn't implied haha

I wasn't being negative, just stating the obvious because the OP acts like this is somehow amazing. It's not. I don't argue what you get it is worth it to somebody, but to me it's not worth the price. So you think paying 8$ or whatever it is a month to get every once in a while get an old game "free" (or a bunch of old games "free") or a discount on other Playstation games, ok- that's your thing man. I don't see it as a deal, amazing, or worth it.

That's my opinion, not a fact as well =)

Sounds extremely dumb to me, I thought plus was supposed to improve on PSN, not be a subscription for discount games. There really isn't a reason to even pay attention to this if you have gamefly.

I dunno, PS+ adds automatic updates and cloud saves, but it's very upfront about paying for a service that gives you multiple discounts/free games/beta invites.

I really just don't understand how every creams themselves whenever steam has a sale, but puts down essentially the same thing with PS+.

It is a good deal and everybody with a PS3 knows it is. I doubt 1 person who has said anything seriously negative about it owns a ps3. The only negative I have is that I only have a 40 gig hard drive.

What I think is funny is how people will rip on PS+ and say how its not worth the money. Yet most, if not all of those same people pay Microsoft the same yearly fee for Live. And they don't get anything back in return. Not sure how that is a logical argument. Two services for the same price. One gives you incentives to pay for it, the other doesn't. Yet the later one is "better" than the other?

@oulzac: Live gets you a more stable network service. That's really it- you're paying for bandwidth costs (too much). Everyone complains about it, but they get it anyway because you have too. If you don't you don't have access to a majority of the features games come with (multiplayer mainly).

I'm not saying you're wrong that Microsoft's model is shitty, but it's no different then PS+. I guess the only difference is PS+ gives you old games to play for free. If you want to prove to yourself its worth it, that's totally logical. It's not for me, but I cant deny your logic there.

Paying money to get things for free, uhh what?

Paying $50 a year to get around $300 worth of video games every month (if they plan to cycle around the titles like Jack said during the announcement). Sounds pretty okie dokie to me.

I really just don't understand how every creams themselves whenever steam has a sale, but puts down essentially thhae same thing with PS+.

Steam doesn't charge you to use the service or take advantage of the sale (or automatic updates, or cloud saves). Just wanted to bring this to your attention.

@CornBREDX: Sony isn't forcing me to pay for their service either... It's an offer on the store front to pay $50 a year for these monthly/weekly deals.

Edit: I think 98% of PS+ members isn't paying for the auto updates or cloud saves.

@TurboMan: You have to pay if you want those services on PS3. You don't have to pay to have these services on steam. All you have to do is buy the games. That is all I am pointing out =)

All about the subscription fee, and also Steam puts way more games on sale, current ones too, the newest (AAA) game ps plus game for free is infamous 2, steam has some deeply discounted games that are basically brand new. Sony and ms have a lot to learn from valve.

Yeah, Live doesn't "give" you much of anything, and it costs more, and it's required to play online. PS+ is a better deal. I have it because I want it, and I feel it's worth the price, considering the value of software I get at no additional cost. (I didn't say free, happy?) Truthfully, I only have Xbox Live because of Mass Effect 3's multiplayer. After I'm done playing that, I'm ditching Live. I have lived without it all this time, and so far Microsoft hasn't added anything to convince me that I need to have it.

The funny thing is, if Microsoft gave all of it's Live subscribers 12 free games, nobody would be saying it's a bad deal. Why is it a bad deal to get 12 free games with PS+?

It is a good deal and everybody with a PS3 knows it is. I doubt 1 person who has said anything seriously negative about it owns a ps3. The only negative I have is that I only have a 40 gig hard drive.

    I do indeed own a slim ps3...
