I'm thinking of getting a psp as i've noticed there's a few games i want to play: patapon, crisis core, god of war, tekken, crush, mgs etc....  I have the choice of picking a phat one up for £75 or buying a slim for £100.  I'm only interested in playing games on it, none of the multimedia features appeal.  Is the slim that much better than the phat, is it worth the extra money?

I personally like the slim and would say it is worth the extra cash. I also heard that on games like Crisis Core the load times are faster on the slim.

I had a phat and just picked up the GoW slim bundle.  I really like the slim.  You should wait for the 3000.  It's coming out pretty soon and is supposed to have a dramatically improved screen.

slim has double the RAM=faster load times

I recently picked one up thinking it would be just for the games and I'm surprised how much I'm using the multimedia stuff, might just be the novelty of it right now though

Slim's features over the Phat (related to games):

• More Ram = Quicker loading of games
• Improved Screen
• Ability to connect to TV, display the game on the TV

Yeah since the 3000 just got announced, hopefully you haven't bought the slim yet and just wait for the newer one.
