So yeah, I bought a Vita. I feel I need to explain this purchase, if anything to myself.
I've had PS+ for over a year and figured out I could pick up the vita games a few months ago. Since then they've been racking up and it feels like a waste, I'm going to be getting a PS4 and remote play seems interesting to a guy who shares a TV with his wife. Then there's also indie games like hotline miami, which I got on PC but find the controls awkward so it could be better to play on a Vita while on my commute.
Plus Tearaway, @patrickklepek sold me on that game
I was very tempted to get a 3DS because of the nostaligia of zelda, mario etc but I really don't feel like I'll play those games much.
First impressions, great piece of hardware. I bought a PSP when they first came out and was impressed with that too but ended up selling it, the difference here. It doesn't feel delicate, it's got strength but doesn't make me feel scared to grip it. The OS is wonderful, I was doubtful of the touchscreen it looked too far away from fingers but it's perfect for use with thumbs and feels really nice and responsive. The screen holds up well too considering what is out on the smartphone market.
So far I've had nothing that uses the camera or back touchpad so that's a little disappointing but I haven't played Tearaway yet. I've downloaded Thomas Was Alone, Knytt, MGS HD, Gravity Rush, Katamari, Big Sky Infinity, Stealth Inc. When Vikings Attack & Guacamelee to get me started (told you I had a lot of PS+ games). I've been really impressed with MGS3 it looks wonderful on this thing, controls are weird but older MGS games always feel dated in the control department.
Guacamelee surprised me, cross buy games are a wonderful idea but this takes it further with cross-cloud saves. My PS3 save is here on the Vita and I've started where I left off. Great little game and it plays really nice on the Vita.
Anyway thought i'd share and ask about your experiences with the Vita. Any games I should absolutely get? Any hidden gems or really fun features I should use?
Cheers
PS does anyone know how to shut off the beeps and sounds as you move around the system?
