Yes, but not quite as scary as the most frightening games I've played. 2%
Yes, but only if it's really mild. VR is going to mess with me, and I'm afraid. 5%
No, I think that would make things a little too frightening. 12%
No, I like scary games, but I just have no interest in VR. 20%
I don't like horror games, or I just want to see the results. 10%

"You know it's not fair, once the technology has arrived for us to create brilliant immersive worlds, to then use that ability to make me feel really weird."

I have to say, that quote made me laugh.

    So horror fans, your thoughts?

besides porn in vr, horror games are the only reason i wanna try it out honestly. but that won't be happening at least a few years onwards, considering the cost of the rig in total.

that was the most cliche comment possible but it is the truth my friend.

(edit: i didn't notice this was under playstation vr actually console prices are really good but the games are really expensive where i live)

Absolutey! I play horror to feel and In VR there's no turning away. You can close your eyes but it's going to be a visceral spatial experience!

I would love the extra immersion, but I'm afraid we won't be playing VR games like Alien:Isolation or PT very soon in a comfortable way with VR. The problem of moving around in VR is not solved yet, as the way Vive and Oculus titles are doing it right now is teleportation and that's just not the same as walking (cautiously) through a digital environment.

I know RE7 is claiming you can play the whole thing in VR, but most people who've tried it at E3 just got plain sick. Seems Capcom did not take notion of what VR pioneers said from the beginning: you can't just convert a game for the a monitor to VR, you have to design it from the ground up.

Horror games are my main reason for being interested in VR at all. The scarier the better, my only fear is that they might be few and far between as far as good ones go.
But yeah, horror games are best to me when I can immerse myself as deep into them as possible. Until now that's basically meant turning the lights off and putting headphones on. Now with VR that's a step further and I like that.

Good gravy, yes. I'm forever on the hunt for games that can affect me like White Day or Amnesia did, but it gets harder and harder all the time. Both because everybody just wants to copy Amnesia, Slender, or Five Nights at Freddy's (and usually quite poorly at that) and because, like a drug, your tolerance for horror increases the more you take in and you need stronger hits each time.

VR horror, to continue the analogy, is potentially the uncut Columbian cocaine to current horror gaming's cheap crack rocks. And brother, if that's the case, call me Tony Montana.

You should watch the video of Here They Lie that I posted above. There's no teleportation involved. You simply move where you are looking. It looks like there's also a quick turn option, if you need to face another direction immediately. That might break the immersion for a second, but it's certainly better than the teleporting crap that was in the Final Fantasy demo, or whatever.

Also, I'm pretty sure that Capcom actually is building RE7 from the ground up for VR. I believe they're basically using what they learned from their infamous "Kitchen" demo, and building the new game to fully realize that project.

Unfortunately, Capcom never did allow video of Kitchen to appear outside of VR, but they did allow plenty of people to play it and talk about it.
