120hz? Are they stealing technology from the future? That's insane!

Someone please announce a "No Man's Sky" morpheus release. Come on. Do it.

Maybe (hopefully) this and VR in general will finally push developers to aim for much higher framerates than 30.

There's no way the PS4 is powerful enough to actually power this thing right? Will it need to come with an external box?

    I have a 144hz monitor right now.

Here is an artist's rendering of what the first Morpheus 120 hz game may look like:

@mb: (I think you were being sarcastic, but just incase I'm wrong, or others don't pick up on it) You have a 144hz monitor right now that in no way could easily be added to a head mounted display.

Many phone LCDs have just barely hit 60hz. Oculus and the HTC display were both being praised for 75/90hz. So I'd say 120hz is pretty futuristic for a 5 inch display in a HMD.

However, I see your image, and counter with one actually on Morpheus from GDC:

@mb: Hurr hurr hurr. Apparently Sony has been telling devs to target PS3 level visuals for the Morpheus, so screenshots from The Last of Us or Killzone 3 would probably be more appropriate.

@blacklagoon: Considering how good the oculus can look with pretty dated visuals due to the 3D looking surprisingly better than a TV, I honestly believe that could be enough in some cases. I am aware the oculus screen is low res and such but that doesn't stop something in such well done 3D looking better than it actually is.
