    Hanssen's Review Of P.N. 03

My review of Product Number 03 AKA P.N. 03 for the Nintendo Game Cube.   Capcom made P.N. 03 exclusively for the Game Cube.   Here is my review:

    Synopsis:

Product Number 03 AKA P.N. 03’s main characters name is Vanessa Z. Schneider.   Vanessa is the only survivor of a colony whose colonist and her parents were killed by a computer system that is supposed to control the robots used for their military.   The name of the computer system is called Computer Arms Management System (CAMS).

The planet Vanessa is from is called Planet Ude.

The military hires Vanessa to go back to the planet she was from to investigate the disappearance of the colonists and destroy any robots still being controlled by CAMS.

Vanessa is guided a mysterious person called “The Client” who guides her and gives Vanessa intel on what she is about to come up against.   She is given a suit called Prima Fusion Aegis Suit at first.   The Prima Fusion neural controls are implanted to her nervous system so she uses the Palm Blaster and various Energy Drive systems.   The suit she was given has two attacks.   They are:

    Swan:

Creates an energy pulse that can destroy a weaker target in 1 shot, but a stronger target may take up to 2 or more shots.

    Gullwing:

The main energy pulse divides on contact, destroying any lesser enemies in the immediate vicinity.

She can acquire points by destroying what she comes up against and she uses those points to upgrade her current suit, buy new Aegis Suits, upgrade those new suits, and/or buy Continues.   There are 9 regular Aegis Suits she can buy and she can upgrade them to get better Barrier, Palm Shot, Automatic (some suits have an automatic feature where you press the A button on the controller and she fires her palm shot as long as you release the A button), and Energy (for the Energy Drives).   Some suits have either two or three Energy Drive Systems where depending on the Energy Drive uses a certain amount of energy.   If you succeed in playing the game completely and get a certain rating you get 2 suits.   One is the Blackbird and the other is the Papillon.   They are 15 different small to medium enemies she faces and there are 9 “bosses,” if you consider some of them bosses.

    Game Play:

Game play like BloodRayne is basically looking at her from the top down.   You can’t see her front unless she is in a cinematic.   It’s mostly straightforward and unlike the BloodRayne game you don’t have to worry about ammo.   But you do need to worry on how much energy you use for the Energy Drive System.   All you do is basically go and destroy many robots and that’s it.   The game is challenging though.   There are 11 regular missions.   Between each regular mission Vanessa does there is something called “Trial Missions” and those trial missions have 5 parts per trail mission and you must get a Professional Rating to advance to the part of the trial mission.   When you do those trial missions there is a lot of backtracking and that is redundant and tedious at the same time. On that note it reduces my rating.

    Graphics:

The graphics of this game is awesome and vivid.   The lines are crisp and clean, even though in some places use the same thing, but sometimes in reverse or a mirror opposite of the room.   When you use a certain Aegis Suit like the Prima Guardian, Intra Guardian, Ultra Fusion, and Ultra Guardian her butt sways side to side and it’s very nice to see.

    Sound:

The Sound Effects and the music are awesome.   There is not much of voice acting in the game.

Ratings (1 is bad and 10 is good):

    Game Play:    8.0
    Graphics:       8.0
    Audio:           7.5
    Plot:              7.0

    Total Average:   7.625
