    Overview

Poing is a freeware Amiga game created by Paul van der Valk. The game plays very much like most other Breakout games, although with the ball moving horizontally rather than vertically across the screen.

The game has several interesting features not commonly found among Breakout clones, such as the varying scores among rows of blocks. In some levels, rows of blocks will regenerate once completely broken.

Players traverse levels by breaking gray blocks that are on the right edge of the screen. Once the player breaks one and passes through the gap created, a new screen with a different pattern appears. If, on one of the later screens, the player fails to bounce the ball off the paddle, the ball instead flies back through previous screens at high speed, allowing the player a quick chance to play on without losing a life if they are able to catch it.
