Another game joins the Famitsu Hall of Fame as Pokemon Black/White receives a perfect score from Famitsu.   The game is being released next Saturday (the 18th) in Japan so this might help boost sales over there.

Its Famitsu, they take bribes, their reviews hold no merit. But I sold my DS, so Ill have to wait until I pick up a 3DS to play this.

As I understood this was a 3DS title.  Are they just going to release a 3DS version when it comes out?

Like someone else said, they take bribes. it's been confirmed before. That said, it's a Pokemon game so it's probably pretty darn fun anyway but certainly no perfect score.

Famitsu review not exactly 100% indicative of the quality of the product, though I'm sure it's fine.

I swear to god, this is like the tenth fucking game I've heard of in three months that Famitsu game a perfect score.

Pretty much everything.  Black/White is the most extensive revamping of the core Pokemon series since, well, ever.  3D environments, animated battle sprites, the ability to have three-on-three Pokemon battles, and supposedly all of the classic Pokemon are locked away until the beginning of a second playthrough. "

They always give perfect scores. :P

To be fair, Black/White is launching in the U.S. in the spring of next year, and Spring 2011 is also a speculated release date for the 3DS.  It's possible that they may both end up being released in the U.S. at the same time. "

Perfect score? Pft.  I lost interest in Pokémon around the time that Emerlad came out. I was hoping the developers would take the chance with Black/White to seriously re-invent the Pokémon formula and make it interesting again. Upgrading the graphics and adding an extra Pokémon into battle is hardly innovation and just says to me that the developers are running out of ideas which reflects in the uninspired Pokémon designs. (I'm talking about the new Pokémon here.)

Famitsu has lost it's perfect score credibility...it's been going downhill for a long while now- Nintendogs? Bayonetta? now this? They're all good games but they don't deserve a Famitsu perfect, at least they wouldn't have by their standards ten years ago.

I'm getting this day one. I recently bought a new DS just to have it ready for PKMN.

Putting aside Famitsu's questionable reliablity these days, there was never much of a chance that I'd be getting this, and in the absence of some great selling point between now and then, It doesn't look like I will. Not much has changed, and I have already what is essentially the quintessential Pokemon game; Pokemon Soul Silver. This game should have gotten a 40, if  anything. It made the rest of the series irrelevant, to me at least. 

Everyone does know that there's now 649 pokemon right?

Kinda excited for more pokemon and moreso that they changed the formula a little!

I want a job and a Japanese DS and this game in Japanese. I also want a PS3 and some games in Japanese. I also want a delightful feeling on my Twinkie.

This game better come out here after the 3DS' launch date in NA.

The laws of the universe state that I should be sick of Pokemon by now. But I want Black/White so bad.

Stuff like this and dragon quest is making it very hard to hold off buying a DS but i have to hold out for the 3DS now

I remember when I actually thought this meant something. Now it's not even a surprise.

Japanese game, same game play, nothing new to offer 40/40. 
Western game, reinvents the wheel, interesting to play 29/40.
