    Overview

    Pokémon Stadium is a spin-off series of games published by Nintendo for consoles, in direct contrast to the handheld-only convention of the main Pokémon game franchise.

    The games are significantly different from the main series in a number of ways. There are no role-playing elements to the Pokémon Stadium games, instead the primary focus of the gameplay is on the Pokémon battles themselves. You are tasked with winning a variety of different tournaments, along with the added functionality of being able to transfer your Pokémon (and their stats) from the handheld versions of the main series, in order to battle with them.
