Pretty sure it was Squirtle. That was my favorite, maybe even before I owned the game. He's the best.

Blue with Charmander, Squirtle was ok but he was what my older brother chose. Plus I love fire, and burning shit seemed effective to me.

Started out with pokemon yellow. Such a great game.

Whoa when i voted earlier today Squirtle was way behind the other two original starters, but now hes in the lead. That was who i started out with in Blue and is always my choice when i play Fire Red or Leaf Green.

Cyndaquil when I played Gold, which is the only pokemon game I've ever played to completion (it's the best in the series and the only one you need to play). I guess, technically, it was bulbasaur, but I never really cared about red/blue. I named bulbasaur 'shit' (I was a stupid kid!).

I want to say it was a Nidoran in Pokemon Pinball, the first Pokemon game I played. Can't remember for sure.

First proper one was Pikachu.

Squirtle is the best starter pokemon hands down. He evolves into a tortoise with CANNONS IN HIS SHELL! Fuck charizard, he's just a dragon with fire on his tale; booooooooring!

Never looked back. I've used all the starting pokes over the years but he's still my personal fave (Totodile is close though).

Bulbasaur (Red as my friends had blue) because the first two gym leaders are Brock and Misty, both of which can be beaten by Bulbasaur.

i played through the games handful of timers. 80% of the time i picked squirtle. that guy is my main dude! a few times i did charmander and one time i did bulbasaur. one time. then i played yellow and did pikachu.

whoever is a bulbasaur fan. you know what kind of person picked bulbasaur? ill tell you, one who cant be trusted!

When I first got pokemon all I saw was a lizard with a fire tail I wanted it. so I picked Charmander not knowing the element stuff within the game.

I think it was Bulbasaur, but it could have been Squirtle. I know I had a Charmander at one point but I think it was a new game after I had played or something.

Totodile in Gold. Such a great game, and such a great pokemon.

Bulbasaur but I can't remember why exactly I chose him. Looking back on it I'm honestly surprised that the young version of me didn't chose Charmander. He seems more like something I would have found cool or interesting at that age.
