Gameplay
Port Royale 2 is a hybrid of real-time combat, Management Sim and Town builder (like Sim City).
In Port Royale 2 you are a pirate who can partake in missions for money and reputation.
Within the game there our four countries who you can oppose or befriend (though not all at once), the other countries are: Spain, England, France and Netherlands(Dutch).
Port Royale 2 is set in a open-world environment, players are also able to trade goods between various different colonies. Each colony specializes in the production of 3 different goods. The prices they are willing to accept for buying and selling the goods you trade depend on several factors, including famine, surplus, shortage and plague.
As a trader, it is your job to to make a profit on the goods you buy and sell and gain a higher net worth to enhance your rank. The more money you make, the better your standings are and the more purchasing power you have on the property of islands. Initially you start with one ship and $50 to 70 thousand, a permit to build assets on your starting island and armaments for your ship depending on your starting money.
