Yes, in 2011, people still have crappy ass hardware and out of date software that makes shit crash.  If this was a real problem, it would have been reported since last night.

Yup, update your stuff. Valve can't predict every hardware config. If you don't want a crash get it on PS3/360. A crash on those would give you reason to complain.

Check the valve forums, I'm sure at least 1 more person has the same issue as you, there might be a solution there!

I didn't have a single crash for the whole time I played until I beat it.  Max settings, constant 60 FPS.

I played it all day today and had no problems. So yes, I guess it IS 2011...

Should have bought it on PS3.

There's always a chance of hardware issues with PC. You can't go blaming the software.

I haven't had a steam game crash on me in months. And I run Vista. VISTA! I have had some Games for Windows Live games crash though >_>

Sorry to say but hardware/software issue on your end. Updating drivers should be the first thing you do when games crash, especially with new games. 

Well, Skynet was activated today, so maybe it's that.
