    Anyone else get their copy of Portal while PSN was down, and cannot redeem their PC copy?

    I'd prefer to have my first playthrough on the PC, but I've been screwed since I got the game in on thursday, with no way of playing the free copy on my PC.

    I knew the deal seemed like it was too good to be true.

    You can redeem the code on Steam.


    Sign on Steam on the PC and just use it.

    Nope, the codes in the PS3 boxes have to be entered on a steam account that is linked with a PSN account. Can't do that until PSN is back up.

    Sure, but until then I have to go dark from pretty much every form of game media, since forums are full of spoilers. It was even hard listening to the bombcast last week with their loose lips and Brad's constant need to be censored. The Tested podcast has a big potato on the icon, so God knows what kind of valve stuff is on there, and then there's the Portal 2 spoilercast...

    I could try playing it on the PS3 but I built a gaming PC for games like these!

    Just play it on the PS3. I did that when it was taking 12 hours to download on PC, and the PS3 version is fine. I ended up playing it a second time on PC and didn't find it much better.

    I've got a friend who was waiting for me to play co-op with, too. Can't do that either :(

    In a world where you're only going to play one version. Why do you need two, you can only play one at once? It is better on PC so that is the only version you need.

    I share my collection of PS3 games with my cousins and nephews, who all have PS3s, and I was wondering how the game played with a controller, so getting a PS3 copy along with the PC version for $10 more seemed like a decent idea. Little did I know there would be a catastrophic PSN downtime.

    Good thing I didn't order SOCOM 4 at the same time :(
