So I ordered this game weeks and weeks ago, beyond excited. I have my confirmation that says I ordered Portal 2, and it shows up today. I open the box. My reciept says PORTAL 2.
I received Mortal Kombat.
I am beyond angry right now and am very tempted to just sell it and walk to GameStop and get Portal 2. Yeah, I'm about to choose GameStop over Amazon. That's how crazy I am right now. Instead of that, what's the proper way of dealing with this infuriating fuckup?
Just go on chat tell them what happened and they''ll send out a replacement most likely next day shipping. Hell, you got a 20 dollar gift card, that alone makes it better than gamestop

Actually I would be but you'll get gift cards and stuff. Just deal with not having to play it for a little. My 360 is currently broken so I can't even play either, you're lucky you can play even one of them
yah dude, don't be mad... put in a claim that you got the wrong product and they will reimburse you and send you a copy of Portal 2. While you'll have a free copy of MK on the side.

I put in a replacement request, and my proper copy will be here Thursday at no charge. They do say, however, that I'll get a refund should I send Mortal Kombat back. Do I have to send Mortal Kombat back, or are they gonna come after me if I hang onto it?

The way you're putting it: you get MK for free, but if you send MK back, you got Portal 2 for free.
This is way better than any Gamestop customer service I've ever had to deal with, and that's why I'm always going to stick to Amazon.
I had my mouse stop working. I sent an E-mail to Logitech, they told me they would send me a newer model because they stopped making mine. Later, my old mouse started working, but no where in any of the communication between me and logitech did they say "Send us your broken mouse". So now I have a brand new Logitech G500 and my old G5 for a back up.

Amazon CS is probably the best in the world. At least it's my favorite. They always take care of you since they know a lost customer will cost them a lot more than the price of a single game.
