Probably an automated sequence as we've already reached past 75 percent. I read that they increased the rate in which games like Killing Floor loaded earlier today due to the amount of players playing those games. 

Say what you will about all this ARG stuff, I think it's been a fascinating experiment. Looks like it'll continue after the games release as theres a lot of stuff in Portal 2 itself that needs investigating.

During the potato overclock the bars seem to fill up a lot faster. So them being all gone would be a bad thing.. probably.

I just started pre-loading it on this computer. It's going to take about 3 hours. If they want to unlock it at around that time it's okay with me. I don't think it's going to happen though.

I expect there will be another push on the games when people get off work and out of class.  The potatoe countdown might very well be a way for Valve to ensure it releases by a certain point if the game playing failed to accomplish it.  They might be willing to "force" people to buy the other games, but they probably don't want them to fail at achieving an early launch.

You should have bought in on Steam then. My game (Denmark) unlocks in 19 hours (well, more like 10, depending on the potato count). "

Wow some awesome early release. . . . I was hoping to play this game few days early.

I think the potatos are adding to the bars.  To me it seems like they just jumped up really quickly over the past 30 minutes or so.  Anyone else getting this?

I think it's clear that Valve overestimated their fans, I'm sure they intended for the countdown to be finished sooner than this. Oh well, a learning experience for everyone involved I guess.

From what I've noticed its about 12.5 potatoes per second so I'm estimating 0030 EST it goes live.
