If there is Portal 3 it would have to be without Chell. I don't really see a need for Portal 3 anyway.

I think I might have this down. If they were to make a Portal 3, the main character would be Caroline.

Portal 3 should merge with Half Life 3. Two silent protagonists come together in the most bizarre co-op campaign ever created. One with a crowbar and guns and the other with nothing but a portal gun.

Portal 2 takes place after Episode 3, we know the world is saved from the aliens.  Glados mentions seeing humans on the outside during this time period so it's safe to say everything is well.  

Portal 3 either has to take place before Portal 1, take place during Half Life 2, or something else that's magical.  As far as I see it, Glados will just put those humans in more tests over and over and then releases them.

The icon on that sign is a homeless person, because Aperture was hiring homeless people in the 70s.

Interesting theory, but I don't think this is anywhere near enough evidence for time travel. The most logical explanation for the orange jumpsuit signs is that they're there to tell the Aperture employees to alert people if they see test participants outside of the tests.

Knowing Valve, it'll take so fucking long to come out everyone will have forgotten what happened in 1 and 2 and no one will care where the story goes.

The second playthrough in I made a bigger note out of GLaDOS saying she saw people, I don't think she can be trusted though, she's likely just saying that to tease Chell more.
I'm in the "Chell's alone on Earth" camp. I think the only suitable "Portal 3" would be an artsy, "walk around North America until you die of "x"-causes" journey. 

A return to Aperture Science? Never again, and I don't think Valve intends to.

I don't think Valve has a serious idea of where they want to go with Portal 3.  I think the ending is open enough so that they can literally do whatever they want (if they even want to do another one).  Honestly this game ended almost exactly the same as the first one (excluding the bit added later on).

The end of Portal 3 ends much like Men in Black where the camera keeps pulling back further and further until it is revealed it is a self contained universe on a pimple on Gabe Newall's enormous ass.
Lower quadrant of the left cheek an inch and a half away from the abyss if you want to know the exact location.

As long as Half Life and Portal eventually merge somehow I'll be happy.

IMO, if they ever want to continue the story from inside Aperture, they should use:

The best thing is for this: L4D, HL, TF, C-S, Portal, (basically any game by valve) end up being put together in one game. The Trilogy of all of them have to be somewhere, and they all (with the exceptions of TF and CS) have connections, in a way.

just think guys wheatley and the portal gun are both in space wheatley has the weird claw things on his head to use the portal gun to get back to earth it could be about wheatley getting back to earth breaking glados off the main guide rail so if they both ended up in those aperture science robot core holders (like atlas and p body) glados could try and ascape the facility why wheatley tries to destroy the test facility and the world (just an idea but it would make an awesome game)

two co op storys and two one player storys for the one player story it the queston why the core why portal gun why glados you dont use portals till almost the end the 2nd is the return of chell so glados is kinda worred that wheatly may retrun some on eath were so she take chell over to the lab to find him. she do but she takes wheatly and space core becase they done nothing yet
