    Prince of Persia

    Franchise »

Prince of Persia is an action adventure series created by Jordan Mechner in the late eighties. The original was a beloved 2D platformer, while the series' later incarnation in The Sands of Time set the bar for modern platforming and continues to influence games a decade later.

So I bought the whole steam pack, which do I start with?

I bought the PoP steam pack that has warrior within, sands of time, two thrones, forgotten sands and the recent one that's just Prince of Persia. What order do these go in?

Chronologically: SoT, WW, TT, FS and you can play the 2008 one whenever.

My god, the whole series for 15 bucks. Damn you Steam! But I agree. Playing them chronologically seems the best way, or atleast when it comes to the main story time since 2008 is its own thing.

Start with PoP '08 in case you get struck by lightning or something before you get around to playing it.

The story in PoP 1-3 wraps up tightly and is actually very interesting. Play those three in that order first.

This; i just bought sands of time for 3.39 since the others aren't really worth it in my opinion. I have the 2008 PoP for PS3 already too, but sands of time really is the best and only one you really need to invest time in, but that's just my opinion of course.

My favorite Prince of Persia is the 08' version.  It reminds me of the Aladdin game that I wanted to play back in 91' - damn, now that I am thinking about it, I guess I have to hook up my Genesis again.

I just purchased the '08 revamp and was wondering if it goes any farther than just platforming to the next platform to defeat a monster and collect light orbs? I am loving everything about the game except the fact that I seem to be doing the same crap over and over with little story implemented.

@csoup: It's essentially 6 hours of what you're already doing. You also need to pay extra to play the ending.

    This.

I decided to only pick up the original trilogy because I already own PoP 2008 and Forgotten Sands seems middling at best to me.

In universe chronology would be Sands of Time, Forgotten Sands, Warrior Within, and Two Thrones. While 2008 is somewhere else.

Well this deal was too good to pass up! Sands of Time is probably the only one I'm going to play with any sort of regularity. Warrior Within gets a lot of shit for it's Godsmack music and turning the Prince into a soulless angry dude. But at it's core, it's still a pretty good game.

Can someone elaborate what he means by"Pay extra to play the ending" ? Does that mean real american dollars, or in-game somethings.

After you 'clear' the game, it ends on a cliff hangar and you need to purchase the DLC off of the PSN/XBLA to finish it.

@csoup: Basically the game did not wrap up properly but Ubisoft releases DLC called Epilogue which is supposed to be a proper ending.
