I'm going to stay away from the point of destroying it as a platform but they certainly seemed to have shifted their focus. And in terms of Rare you need to remember that it's essentially a new company so they have also shifted their focus. After the shift from Nintendo many of the original staff left which let Microsoft essentially rebuild it in their own image.

I still thinks it looks great one PS3 so will be buying in instead of spending £1000 on a PC. Obviously it doesn't look as good but it will definitely suffice.

Without trying to repeat myself I'm going to say it's a fantastic idea, but like all great ideas it needs backing from developers. They seem pretty excited about it so I'm really looking forward to seeing what they can come up with, but it has to be new and exciting. No matter how cool the tech is, it needs the backing of developers. I think android tablets are a great example of this. They lack the support from developers so not many people invest in them. Wii U needs a killer app other than the hardware.

There's a reason 4 spawned the new wave of modern shooters. It's fucking incredible.

At the end of the day, 'hardcore' gamers already have something else to play 'hardcore' titles on so they're not going to win them back straight away. They're trump card is the controller and how to get developers to make exclusive and amazing experiences with it for a 'hardcore' audience. Also, they're Nintendo. They have some of the best, and my favourite, franchises in the world and will always be able to sell consoles on that merit.

This sounds amazing. I love the idea of wanting to work with someone rather than being forced. Very excited for this.

My favourite part is the users brilliant grammar and spelling abilities.... But seriously, mostly the forums and the community side of it. I also watch quick looks when the game interests me.
