Alpha Centauri. Great idea to have some kind of plot in a strategy game like that, the characters/factions were all well done, and it was incredibly addictive.
I think the best tip is to go into small nebulas on the maps (not the nebula sectors) because they slow down the fleet and give you a lot more opportunity to visit more star systems (thus collecting scrap and more chance of hitting the ship-quests). I specifically tried doing that and ended up with the zoltan one in my last playthrogh.
What about that thread? The original post fits the "Youtube spam" rule, but then after 6 pages of discussion, Mr. Mod comes along and is all "YOUTUBE SPAM. I WILL BLINDLY FOLLOW THIS RULE DESPITE THE DISCUSSION. DURRRRR".
Completely agree. There are dozens of threads on these forums where people post memes, two word posts, or the most general banalities and yet if someone posts a youtube vid with only a couple sentences it get locked.
On any other forum spammy posts disappear after a few hours cause people ignore them - here they're bumped constantly by people who feel the need to post their complaints.
Google Plus, Schmoogle Schmus... I've got a little over a year before they take down my beloved iGoogle... :(
I have no idea why they're taking that down. It might not be the most popular thing but it's useful, and more and more people I know have started using it.
My computer isn't great so I'm hesitant about space engine. X3 seems pretty good but it does seem to involve quite a lot of combat. I'll give it a try though, thanks.
It's a little disappointing to see Obsidian - a company capable of doing pretty innovative things in new settings - going back and covering ground they've already covered. I guess that's one of the problems with kickstarters, you have to pander and appeal to people before you even start making a game.
I'm sure it'll be a great game though.
Are you under the impression that you don't have to pander in order to get a major publisher to give you millions of dollars to make a product for them?
