Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe when we debated the "sleep clause" we meant the rule that you may only put one of your opponent's pokemon to sleep at any given time [as defined here, here, and here], not the banning of sleep moves entirely.

Well I'm away from the 5th to the 12th, but then these things seem to take about a week to set up anyway so I wouldn't object to registration for a new tournament opening soon with a view to it actually starting around the 12th.
If people are overwhelmingly in favour of starting earlier than that, though, then obviously we should.
@darthorange, would that be long enough to get your new team ready?
@jinx1: If I'm battling a passerby on wifi or playing in the battle spot I'm not going to moan about evasion and sleep, but since we're setting up tournaments in a closed community there is no harm in coming to a consensus on a rule set we enjoy. Surely it's more important to play the game the way you want to play it?

Oh man, I wasn't aware of the delay. Seems some people managed to get it working for long enough to put some pokebank mons in the system though, as quite a few are already being offered on the pokemon trades subreddit. Some bonus compensation would be great but as you said I don't think it's strictly necessary.
We gonna wait til the bank is available for everyone before starting another season then, @goranp?
I am very surprised to see all of this Greninja talk. I have never been on either end of a Greninja sweep. Protean Greninja is a versatile and useful pokemon, but due to its fragility I think of it as a pacey revenge killer not unlike Starmie, with greater speed and permanent STAB coming at the expense of Rapid Spin. Priority and hazards, which were common before pokebank and will apparently be even more common after, are the death of him.
Though I think Smogon's tiers are generally pretty solid, if people would prefer not to ban things here than I'm not fussed. I would be happy to bring in evasion and sleep clause rules though.
How many of you guys will be using pokebank? X/Y is my first rodeo competitively speaking, so I'll be picking up my free Celebi but will have to scrounge around for other interesting older pokes.
