Campaigns I've completed

This is, quite obviously, a list of games that I've completed the campaigns of on at least normal difficulty. The title really said it all.

PC: 43

PS2/PS3: 25

Game Boy Color: 2

List items

  • PS2

After playing 00: Nightfire for so long, the mechanics of this game were a bit strange to me. Not only were the controls a little different, but the aiming was different. The story was good, mind you, and it had some challenging moments, but it just didn't feel quite right to me.

  • PS2

While I did play through the entire story once, I really only remember the multiplayer. In my opinion, it's the best multiplayer Bond game out there. The story was also pretty good.

  • PC

Now, I played through this quite a few years ago, but I remember some things about it. I thought it was pretty tough at times. I also remember it being extremely fun, but I love the RTS genre as a whole. I also remember a cheat that gave me cars. Very powerful cars in medieval times.

  • PC

This was the first game I played on Steam. Probably because it's free. It was very enjoyable, too. I enjoyed the break from first person games in this third-person cooperative alien shooter. It's really best played with three people you know, as teamwork can make the difference between success and failure, but it's just as fun running around with total strangers at times.

  • PC. 100% complete. Woo!

This quirky third-person shooter caught me by surprise. There was great weapon customization that actually took some effort and one of the characters fairly frequently broke the fourth wall. I rarely see video games break the fourth wall, and I do enjoy it, so I always find it refreshing. I found that the missions got a little repetitive, but not in a really bad way. I mean, there are only four characters, so you can only really go through four cycles.

  • PS2

Honestly, I played this game so long ago that I really don't remember it. I'm not entirely sure that this is the Ape Escape game I played. I do remember having a lot of fun with it, though.

  • PS3

I think I really only played this game because of the open world environment. I wasn't too interested in the story or multiplayer, but I really enjoyed wandering around the city and countryside. I also thoroughly enjoyed upgrading my city and armory. Perhaps I was just in it for the achievements.

  • PS3

  • PC

Very fun game with a great soundtrack.

  • PC

I'll be honest with you here. I hated the story. Absolutely hated it. That did not get in the way of enjoying the gameplay, though. I was a big Battlefield 2 fan, so everything felt right to me straight from the get go, both in the single player campaign and the multiplayer.

  • PC

I had a hard time telling myself that this game has a campaign, but in the end, I decided that beating the included tracks is beating the campaign. Not very tough, but it was never really about the included tracks, now, was it?

  • PC

I'd heard great things about this game from a number of close friends, so I had very high expectations going in. It did not disappoint one bit. The story was wonderfully complex in a way that had me on the edge of my seat and completely focused on the game. It, of course, then helped that I enjoyed playing the game. The customization was truly a thing of wonder. Not to mention how beautiful the game is, right down to the embellishments on an upgraded weapon.

  • PC

Thoroughly enjoyed BioShock and had high expectations for this game. Bioshock 2 did not disappoint one bit. Fantastic story and good gameplay to boot.

  • PC

I was a bit wary of the change in scenery from the previous BioShock games, but Infinite was certainly no slouch. The story is fantastic with plenty of twists and turns. This is only enhanced by the pleasant soundtrack and visuals. The gameplay is nothing really special, but doesn't draw away from the overall experience.

  • PC

Oddly enough, I only picked this game up to play through it with a friend, and then we never finished the game together, but I did finish it twice through on my own. The overwhelming amount of guns and wild variations of enemies got me really excited. It was very nice to not see the exact same weapon twice. The creativity of everything, from the environment to the enemies to the equipment, was absolutely fantastic. It was also a godsend that it's an open world game, as I don't think I would have seen half those wonderful features if it weren't.

  • PC

I was a bit prejudiced going into this game. I loved the first one and really wanted to love this, too. Turns out I didn't need to love the first game. This game has everything I loved about its predecessor and more. I usually prefer to play through games on my own to get an untainted experience, but some parts of this game were challenging enough that I needed at least one partner. To be honest, I haven't defeated every enemy yet. I also enjoyed that the story is tied to the prequel, but not in such a way that the imaginative story is constrained or that players new to the franchise would be lost.

  • PC

While I usually enjoy crazy concepts, this game may have taken it a bit too far. I enjoyed certain aspects of the game, such as the variety of methods for eliminating enemies and the verbals sparring between characters, but believe that the game would have been better without certain other aspects, such as a plant boss or bipolar semi-robotic partner. Overall, the game is enjoyable, but I think it could have been better.

  • PS3

This story was not worth playing through. I was relieved that I really only bought it to play online with some friends. While it was wildly popular, it just didn't appeal to me.

  • PC

I went into this game thinking it would be terrible, but I ended up enjoying it immensely. I loved the push to use your imagination when creating things, as that was the biggest part of this game for me. I ended up playing through the whole game to try to get the most parts to use in making vehicles instead of finishing the story.

Overall, great game. Certain things, though, were not so great.

A solid sequel to Darksiders. It was mostly the same as the first game, as far as game mechanics go, but it did have some improvements and expansions.

  • PC

While this game is enjoyable, it is much more so when not playing through it alone. That's probably why I've finished the story almost three times entirely, but never on my own. I'm not sure what about it I don't like, and maybe it's only some minor detail, but it gets to me in such a way that I can't fully enjoy the game without the distraction of another player to talk to.

  • PC

This is my favorite zombie game. I picked it up super cheap in an indie bundle, played it once, and loved it. I introduced a friend to it the next day and enjoyed the co-op campaign as well. It doesn't have a particularly detailed story, but it doesn't need one. In fact, it has two stories that are somewhat vague and they're both fun. I'm someone that focuses on the details, so to me, this is a total victory.

A great art game. Good soundtrack, too. I've only played through one character, but I do intend to go back at least a few more times, perhaps taking a less direct approach.

I think that only after having completed the main story and the DLC story, I've figured out what I'm doing. Unfortunately for me, though, both times I finished a campaign, the game crashed, so I don't get credit for it. That's alright, though, as I don't mind making another pass through it. I tried to play through it alone, but ended up needing a friend. This game can be very challenging. It can also show you just how creative you aren't. When I played alone, I was using the same combinations of elements time and again, but when playing with a friend, I was inspired to experiment more and found that greatly improved my performance. The story is a bit too full of twists for my tastes, though.

I'm a huge stealth fan, and truly love the MGS series as a whole, but this game took stealth to a whole new level. I've played through MGS2, MGS3, and MGS4 with ease, but I found myself getting caught constantly in Mark of the Ninja. Maybe it's the conversion from third-person 3D to side-scrolling 2D, but I prefer to believe not. I also found this game to be very rewarding. Not only did I unlock new weapons, skills, and skins, but I also felt like I had accomplished something when I completed the game, or even just one level.

Very fun. Offspring Fling! has a ridiculous amount of levels, and not all of them are easy, but it's very fun. This game is also one of the most rewarding games that I can remember playing. When you earn a Gold Flower, you feel good, and when you earn a Rainbow Flower, you feel great.

My game broke before I could hit 100%.

Really wish there was more campaign to play, or a new game plus option.

  • Blue version on the Game Boy Color.

I first got this game as a wee lad. I still play it every once in a while now over a decade later. I've had to buy a new copy of it, which was a bummer, but I still have it. I'm also not sure that I'll ever really be finished with this game. While I've completed the story line, there is still much to do. I have yet to capture all the monsters and train them well. It is undoubtedly a fun game, but it can lose appeal quickly when you're just grinding levels instead of following the story.

  • Game Boy Color.

This is another game that I'll never truly finish. Again, the story is complete, but the experience is far from over. I picked this up just two or three years ago, so there was nothing too spectacular about it. I just enjoy the open world and a bit of level grinding when I'm travelling.

I cried. Twice. I'm not afraid to admit it. Playing this game is an amazing experience. The soundtrack conveyed the emotion beautifully. The pacing was fantastic. The art is truly art. The only thing that did not blow me away was the control scheme. I switched it up about half-way through the game and was able to fully enjoy the heartwarming finale to the story, but I did notice the limitations of the controls a few times before that. I probably wouldn't have had that issue had I just looked them up in advance, though, so that's really on me. This is the only game I've played that I would give a perfect score in every category to, as it not only meets all expectations of a perfect game, but exceeds them.

Still miffed at this game for not giving me my trophies years after the fact.

Very strange, but quite fun. Entertaining arcade shooter with plenty of difficulties to choose from and challenges to make the experience even more fun.
