Top 5 games I played in 2015

Well, it's that time of the year again. For a year that started off strongly for me completion-wise, two periods of 'I don't feel like playing games' meant that it became a pretty regular year. This year, I've had to revert back to a top five list. Also, like most years, I haven't played much of this year's releases. Here's what I've selected...

List items

  • A game that was definitely worth the wait, in my opinion. I've had a lot of fun playing it. As as sci-fi fan, I also love how well they've used the setting. It's not perfect (the flat ending, in particular), but there's not a lot of negatives I can think of. Looking forward to the DLC.

  • Really well done. It's like playing an episode of the TV series. All the humour you've came to expect from South Park is in there. The actual gameplay works well, too. If you're a fan of the series, I can't recommend it enough. I'm glad another game is on the way.

  • As a fan of time travel, this was something I knew I wanted to play back when I saw the original trailer. But, as I don't really subscribe to the episodic model, I waited for the whole game to be released first. I don't regret it picking it up. The story was very enjoyable and the accompanying music was perfect. I hope the studio comes out with something similar in the future.

  • This is a game I backed on Kickstarter, as I enjoyed the previous two Shadowrun games from Harebrained Schemes. On the most part, it didn't disappoint. They made some noticeable changes to the old formula. The characters were really interesting, too. I thought the ending was a bit eh, but that didn't sour the overall experience.

  • Enjoyed the first game, so I decided to give the sequel a go. It was just as good (if not slightly better). The story was as crazy and dark as the original. The music was definitely up there, too. I seem to remember some of the mechanics initially giving me trouble, but they weren't too bad once I knew what to do.
