On Sunday went to purchase an A/V cord for an old Nintendo 64 to show off an old game called Rush 2049. Clerk grabbed this multi headed cord and insisted it would work. "But this thing says Wii" I said. Clerk says "trust me I know games, Nintendo never changed it's cord." I thought that was a bold statement seeing how TV's and consoles have changed so drastically since then I questioned him with a "You sure about that?" and he insisted he was. OK, being blatantly wrong is one thing but being wrong after having worked in the same shop for the past 7 years was kinda irritating to me.
So I return to Gamestop the following day receipt in hand and see my clerk busy with something else. Skinny clerk asks if he can help me and I said no, "I'll wait for him." I hand him back the cord and informed him it did not work he looked at it and went back to where the cords were, grabbed a different one gave it to me and said "You shoulda got this one."
OK he knows he gave me the wrong one so I'm like OK let's just switch. The new one did indeed say N64 on it's packaging and the price was identical. He went back around the counter started to work it up and He's like Name? Phone Number? Address? I said "You gotta be F*ckin kiddin me with this sh*t" Clerk says: I'm sorry it's policy. That's when skinny clerk decides he's coming to the rescue even though it was not necessary, that small apology was all I needed to give stupid clerk my info... Skinny clerk demands that I exit the premises immediately. I tell him "to mind his f*ckin business". He picks up the phone and calls the cops.
I'm trying to wrap things up with dumb clerk and skinny clerk is holding his hand out in front of dumb clerk as to make him stop, explaining to the police what I look like and demanding I leave immediately. I told him that I'm not leaving anywhere until I get my money back or the replacement. He said to the dumb clerk "don't give him anything". I picked the replacement cord off the counter and walked out the store.
