Super Smash Brothers 4 Part 3: The Legend of Zelda

Most of you know by now that I am the ultimate list whore. As such, I feel that I almost have a duty to create a character roster for the next Super Smash Bros, despite the fact that it may be 6 years down the road. Why am i adding this as a forum post as well as a blog? Because if there is a franchise or character that should obviously be added, I want to make sure that I dont miss them, so all of you need to let me know if some character is being forgotten. Every day, I will add a blog post including the characters from an entire franchise, complete with pictures, and perhaps a synopsis. Please respect that this is my list, and If there is a character I deem not worthy, then i will simply not add them.

Part 1: Representative Franchises

Part 2: Mario Brothers

Part 3: The Legend of Zelda

Link
Link
Synopsis: Link is one of the most popular characters in videogames, especially among those who list Videogames as a hobby. He's been saving the princess for over 30 years. He is most well known for getting in Ganondorfs way and for his seemingly endless supply of marginally useful equipment. Most of the time the Link in one game is a completely different Link from any prior game.

Notable Appearances: The Legend of Zelda, The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time

SSB4 Likelyhood: 10/10

Differences: Link and Dark Link would essentially be pallet swaps; the same would be true for Young Link/ Toon Link

Zelda
Zelda

Synopsis: While originally Zeldas job was to sit in her castle and wait to be rescued, her role in Links adventures has expanded over the years (she still has to be rescued a lot.) Her relationship with Link is one that has been talked about with great interest, but to date, the two have never progressed beyond friendship.

Notable Appearances: The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of time, The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess

SSB4 Likelyhood: 10/10

Differences: Zelda Tetra and Shiek would all be distinct characters sharing the same slot on the character selection screen

Ganondorf
Ganondorf

Synopsis: Ganondorf is the one character that reappears throughout the series. While Link and Zelda have been "reincarnated" several times thoughout the timeline of the game, Ganondorf has always been himself, and he has always been hungry for power. He has had influence over a number of characters over the year, including the villians Agahnim and Zant.

Notable Appearances: The Legend of Zelda, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker

SSB4 Likelyhood: 10/10

Vaati
Vaati

Synopsis: While he is not as well known as Ganondorf, there is little question that he is just as dangerous. He was the first foe that the hero Link defeated, in the Minish Cap. Whether he is truely evil or not remains to be seen.

Notable Appearances: The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap, The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords Adventures

SSB4 Likelyhood: 4/10

Beck: Mongolian Chop Squad

Okay, so im supposed to be doing a blog about Smash Bros, but i got a little bit sidetracked. See, I had to wake up to do something early this morning(had to drive through the horrible weather we had, snow, road slicks, white outs, the whole shebang), and when I got home i didn't feel much like catching up on sleep, so I pulled out one of the many anime box sets in my collection that i havent gotten around to watching, starting in alphabetical order. Beck was number one on the list. It came on 6 discs of 26 episodes, and from the first 30 minutes i was completely hooked. This story completely spoke to me. I don't know whether it was the fantastic music used throughout, the wonderfully executed story of a boy finding his passion, the suprisingly exellent english voice acting, or the precisely tuned comedy (which hit my funny bone on just about every pass), but I constantly had either a smile on my face or a tear in my eye. This is the best Anime that I have seen since Fate/Stay Night, and I think that Beck may just surpass it. Everybody should see this, whether they are into the medium or not. This is a TV show that should not be missed by anyone.

Super Smash Brothers 4 Part 1: Representative Franchises

Most of you know by now that I am the ultimate list whore. As such, I feel that I almost have a duty to create a character roster for the next Super Smash Bros, despite the fact that it may be 6 years down the road. I was not satisfied with the 3rd-party representation in Brawl, so that will be a major point that i will address in my list. Why am i adding this as a forum post as well as a blog? Because if there is a franchise or character that should obviously be added, I want to make sure that I dont miss them, so all of you need to let me know if some character is being forgotten. Every once in a while(I'm not sure what the time frame will be, I will add a blog post including the characters from an entire franchise, complete with pictures, and perhaps a synopsis. Please respect that this is my list, and If there is a character I deem not worthy, then i will simply not add them.

With all of that said, here are the franchises i deemed worthy to have representatives. I'm going to try and make sure that no one franchise has more than one character, so in some cases characters will only be included as "costume changes" of other characters.

Nintendo Properties:

Non-Nintendo Properties:

When I begin to create the pages for each franchise, i will likely have a maximum of 4 characters per series, to fit with how Nintendo has done it and allow for 4-player franchise brawls. However, some characters will have different movesets for different "costumes", much like Zero Suit Samus and Shiek from Brawl. I will present all hopeful forms when i get to the character in question.
I don't expect this post to get much traffic since it has few specifics, and thus isn't very interesting. However, your input would be appreciated in order to create a full and balanced list.

Edit: I'll also add "creatures" to the pages, such as the rabbids of Rayman. I see them as something like the Assist Trophies, except they can be both an ally and a hinderence, throwable and painful when hit by.

The future is looking expensive

Well I finally finished Grand Theft Auto IV today. I breezed through most of the game, but i failed that last misson something like 20 times. The bike section had so many hidden bumps and invisible walls that i ran into, and the few times i sucessfully jumped onto the helicopter, that douchebag Jimmy P shot me down with his rocket launcher, usually in one shot. And why in the world did my restarts always start at night time, regadless of when you originally started the mission? I couldn't see that stupid boat at night, thus couldn't hit it with my machine guns. anyway, its finally over. Now i've got about a week to finish Mirrors Edge, Bioshock AND Chrono Trigger before my own copy of Fallout 3 comes in the mail, which will render me completely useless until i go back to college.

And if i somehow don't get completely sucked in by Fallout 3, I'm probably going to pick up Madworld tomorrow, and i just picked up Castlevania SOTN, Castle Crashers, Street Fighter 2 HD Turbo Remix, and Ikargua on XBLA. I also preordered Suikoden Teirkreis, which comes out on the 17th, and if i can find a way, i'll be grabbing Fire Emblem Shadow Dragon, Avalon Code, and Ogre Battle March of the Black Queen. Not to mention Y's which is already out, Rhythm Heaven in April, Lux Pain at the end of March, and Virtual On coming to the XBLA who knows when

Update: Theres a new on-rails shooter Resident Evil coming soon. Its based on the events of Resident Evil 2. there goes another 50 bucks.

Two words. Ouch.
