  • Inverted y-axis.

    Dual joystick.

    Force feedback.

    Well, no.

Canabalt did what many games had attempted since Tetris. To create a simple but brilliant game which appeals to the masses. With its randomly generated levels, its never the same run twice!

Simply brilliant. Try the free flash version, fall in love with it, then buy the iPhone version! Games of this quality deserve your support!

  • Rerelease 2009! Wow. Just wow. The greatest adventure game of all time reincarnate! The true highlight for me was the music. Faithful to the original score, but with a full band, the soundtrack is music to my ears! Wait...

If you havent experienced SoMI, this is where you need to go.

    Just do it!

  • The greatest platformer/puzzler/time travelling game of all time. This game is perfect in every way. I nearly bought this game about 6 times, but when I finally clicked 'buy', I didnt regret it. Again, a 2008 release but I played the pc version which was released 2009. Whats the exact ruling on this?

  • Ok, this is cheating. But for me, 2009 was all about Fallout 3. A late 2008 release, I picked up this gem just before christmas and didnt put it down until September. An awesome game that will keep you going for hours upon hours upon hours!

  • Again, sort of a cheat. But as I exclusively played the PC version, I think this counts. Again, a huge time sucker. I became so obsessed with checking every gate, hitting every jump and smashing every board that I almost wept with anger when I realised that Big Surf Island is destined to never come to the pc. Such a shame. The game that made me get a X-Box 360 controller for my pc

  • Not the greatest game ever made, but brilliant good fun. An awesome way to spend a few days!

Ever taken down a building with a sledgehammer?

    Want to?

  • and it's sequels. Telltale doing what they do best with the best of what they do. If you had ever conceived of the dream team of PaC adventure games, this is it. And what a game they made. Truly worthy of the series.

  • This is a game of two halves. The menus, cutscenes and soundtrack oose hilarity. The gameplay is kinda by the numbers light gun shooting. But with a friend by your side, there is some good fun to be had here. A little short (me and my housemate blasted (literally) our way through the main and the directors cut is two sittings), this game should lead tHotD into a new era of silly but kickass lightgun wii games. Tweak the gameplay to better fit the overall style, and this game would have been killer

  • This is not an awesome game. However this is an awesome idea, and has more potential than any other game of 2009. Unfortunately, the game ultimately felt rushed and a lot of its parts felt scribbled in, not crass hatched like it deserved.

  • Points for idea, lack of points for pulling it off. Ultimately, this would have been better as a DLC pack. But ntl this provided a few hours of mirth. Also it was with this game that I discovered the ultimate in guitar hero awesomness. Guitar with singing. Mic stands a go-go!
