@The_Laughing_Man: This is a small scale space sim, fighters and turrets rather than each person having a frigate or the such. Hence its twitch based and full movement rather than point and click, almost completely different types of game.

"In order to ensure the best service, open beta testing will start first for players from Europe. Players from North America need not despair, though, as servers for closed beta testing there will available in March.

The new open beta client will include many new and updated features that were not available before: controls have been made more intuitive and allow the direction one is shooting in to be determined independently from the direction of the ship. Weapons have been examined carefully and their damage output has been rebalanced. The level cap has been raised to level 40 and new content has been added. A change log of all the new features can be found in the official forum.

All planned features, such as modular ship-building, the skill system, exciting single-player, group, clan and PvP missions as well as the innovative clan stations have been fully implemented. A special highlight is the voiced dialogue spoken by professional voice actors and accompanied by an orchestral soundtrack.

Black Prophecy offers breath-taking real-time battles in a variety of space settings, all set in a world with a rich background story penned by the science fiction author Michael Marrak. Enthralling PvP battles that can be fought alone or with a group as well as countless options for customizing spaceships, including by crafting, guarantee fun for a long time to come."

One of the most beautiful games of this generation, i'll be really sad if a sequel doesn't come out in the next 3 years.

Its incredibly complicated as to why people smoke but heres a two points.

-Social interaction, Almost like a worldwide smokers club..If your at a bus stop and you ask someone for a light, your instantly best mates.
-The relaxation, Whether its the lack of oxygen or the nicotine, smoking does make you relax.

@Chabbs0: Thanks for that. But Its not the design, its the complete lack of any interaction with commenter's. There is ZERO community on Kotaku anymore and reader opinions are clearly ignored.

Ive stuffed my department (of 10) with both Mac pro's and locally constructed PC's in the past. We're a background design studio for games and TV. Ive experienced it all with both ends of the spectrum. (8 2008 mac pro;s i believe 5-6000$ each, now we run 8 random unbranded PC's, 800-1000$ each, same stats if that makes a difference. All systems dual screens with cintiq's)

Macs rarely freeze up. But they do freeze up, occasionally. Ive had PC's on for a good 6 months until a power outage and i've had Macs freeze (burnout once too) on startup. Its situational, neither is better. Users make the difference. A stupid person will break anything.  But in general you will experience less virii(?) on a Mac.

IMO...
Best>
Hardware- Exterior: peripherals etc. Mac, no question. The stuff they give you out the box is superb, cables and management are clean and designed well.  They also look stunning.

Best>
Hardware- Interior: PC.  The majority of Mac hardware is shit to be honest, especially for the price, i-macs with mobile graphics cards (9600Mobilein a desktop) come to mind, 2006 graphics cards shoved into 6000$ 2008 mac pro's. But its tied so well into the OS you'll never notice so its not actually that big of a deal.

But i will say...
Design work, 3d and 2d graphics applications. This is my only gripe and is complete advertising tripe, in fact it pisses me off. Macs are in no way better (in fact worse off) in all areas bar video editing. Less 3rd party programs, gimped 3d applications (Maya is a buggy piece of trash on a Mac imo, constant python errors too for some unknown reason, also Open gl FTL) 2d programs are the same on any hardware, it doesn't make a difference who made it. I and my coworkers spend our entire working lifetime in Photoshop and we honestly don't know why the myth that macs are better persists.
