Peaks of the franchise.

List items

  • The Ultimate Dead or Alive experience, it had everything - an updated Dead or Alive 2, all the costumes you could imagine and Dead or Alive one thrown in there for good measure. Dead or Alive 4, by comparison, felt a little bare. Of course you can't play Dead or Alive Ultimate online any more.

  • After Raven Shield, things started to take a turn for the worse and the franchise is now less about tactics and more about cover mechanics a la Gears of War.

  • Pandora Tomorrow introduced Spies Vs Mercs, Chaos Theory refined that mode, introduced a cooperative campaign and the best single player campaign in the Splinter Cell series.

  • Metal Gear Solid is the best Metal Gear Solid game ever released. Twin Snakes was the same game with a lick of gorgeous paint. The only game I ever bought for the Gamecube.

  • GTA III was the game changer, something that defined last generation. Vice City was the better game, the improvement. It had a killer soundtrack and quite the voice talent involved. San Andreas felt a little blown out.

  • While the multiplayer is better in MW2, the single player campaign in 4 is superior.
