1. Monster Hunter: World

I played through story mode and beyond on PS4, Xbox and PC. Absolutely my favorite game of the year and looking forward to Iceborne.

Finished: Awaiting more

Another forward step for Battlefield with so many new mechanics, but BFV released in a state that requires so much more work and polish. It feels unfinished and we're truly playing the beta. All that being said the gun play may be my favorite of the series and I'll continue to spend time here hoping for things to improve and develop.

(Also why were there 3 different release dates for different tiers of buyers?)

4. Pokémon: Let's Go, Pikachu!/Eevee!

Nintendo was able to trick me into buying Pokemon R/B/Y again and I loved it.

5. Red Dead Redemption II

Playing: On and off (as of December)

6. Marvel's Spider-Man

I wanted to fully fall in love with this game, but the open world while an impressive representation of compacted Manhattan, left me wanting more depth. If felt like it went through the Marvel Cinematic Universe machine and came out as formulaic as Phase 2 MCU.

Finished: Planning to return for 100% and potentially DLC at sale price
