@humanity: I agree @alex is probably the guy I find myself agreeing with most on GB (which isn't to say I find myself disagreeing with the rest of the guys) but I just can't muster any sympathy for Kotaku on this one.

@alex: I think about this and it reminds me of some shitty British tabloid like the Sun posting details of a celebrity affair under the banner of 'public interest'; they only do it to sell papers. And Kotaku only did this to generate site traffic. It wasn't some hard truth into shitty practices; it was a leak of information that the creator has a right to have remain private.

Not all 'leaks' have to be reported on. I respect your opinion threat they should sack up and say that they're cutting ties, but I alsodon't think the publishers do anything wrong when they simply don't reply.

Like I said, Kotaku knew what they where doing when the ran the stories and they probably knew what the end result would be. If a publisher needs to sack up and admit when they're cutting ties, then kotakue should sack up and take their fucking medicine.

I have zero sympathy for Kotaku on this one. They're not being punished for leaking information into shoddy business deals. They're not being punished because they gave a terrible review to one of the two publishers properties (@alex ever says he savaged Unity and Ubisoft still work with GB). They're being published because they came across something which they knew would generate them clicks on their website and decided to publish it. Nothing wrong with that, they're just acting like a business. But, following the same logic, it then has to be ok for Bethesda and Ubi to act like a business and to tell Kotaku to go fuck themselves.

I don't know the ins and outs of marketing but other people do and if they think x is the best way to reveal their new product that they have spent millions of dollars creating, then they should be allowed to do that.

All this reads like to me is Kotaku did something arguably bad and are now huffing because they're being punished for it.

They're adults, they made a decision and they should be adult to face the consequences and not throw a hissy fit.
